Yes, the whole seat folds up against the wall. It's a very good.

When it is folded down to sit on it is 41cm (or just over 16 inches.) When it is folded up against the wall it is 9cm (or 3.5 inches). It is a very good seat.

Q: Is it rust proof including the fitting screws. Iam concerned about rust and the long term appearance of the unit.

I’ve had my chair fitted in my shower 10 months ago. It’s not showing any signs of rust. I’m a father of 2 and between the 3 of us we use the shower a lot. The seat is still in very good working order and looks good.
