A good quality Aluminum tube.

Perfect 16mm shaft for sack truck wheels
I used this 16mm tube for a shaft for a panel dolly. It was ideal as the wheels have 16mm bearings and I tapped each end of the shaft with an M6 tap to hold the wheels in place.
