Great Value & Service
These are pretty pedestrian in looks but do the job nicely. The soft moulded handles are very comfortable to hold and my wife & I found the slightly springy 'shock system' did reduce impact on the wrist & arm. We didn't use the wrist straps but they have their uses. The ferules are quite robust and a week in the lake district did little to wear them.Adjustment is via a twist and lock system that takes a bit of getting used to. Grasp the pole & twist one way until it loosens, adjust to desired height & then twist back in the opposite direction to lock. The directions are marked upon the pole & the there are two segments that are adjustable. As soon as I got these out of the box my darling daughter grabbed one and immediately extended it beyond the marking that says 'do not extend beyond here'. I could not for the life of me get the over extended section back into place so I e-mailed Trekrite. I was e-mailed back within a couple of hours & told that it would be best for me to give them a call & was given a name & number to ring. I did so and a very helpful gentleman talked me through the process which was a bit complicated so I was grateful for the help. The speed and courtesy of the companies response was very impressive. It was all sorted in under 3 hours and the pole now works perfectly. While out and about in the lakes we noticed 2 distinct groups of walker. Those who had shelled out a small fortune in walking gear and those who had gone for reasonably priced but solid names like trek rite, Karrimor & Regatta. I guess if you are a professional or hike all the time then the extra money spent is worth it but if you are more casual in your use or you head for the simpler routes then there are some bargains to be had that will serve you well if looked after them and present great value for money. These walking poles are definitely in the good VFM category and are well worth considering. If you're not sure about the usefulness of poles then at this price finding out won't hurt your pocket. We certainly found them helpful in more rugged areas particularly and also to set a rhythm to walk by.When not needed they unlock down to a very manageable size. All in all these would be pretty good at this price each but for a pair & combined with such excellent after sales service they are excellent.

Budget price makes them an excellent choice for first time users of trekking poles.
I bought these because I wanted to try the twist lock style of trekking poles. I understand flip lock ones are generally preferred overall by the hiking community and I currently have a Trespass flip lock one and while it works fine, I personally find the actual flip lock attachments a little annoying due to them getting snagged on parts of my backpack when stowed. A minor annoyance, sure but i still wanted to try an alternative. The poles arrived packed with a bag for storage and the ferrule and basket accessories, which incidentally are exactly the same as my current pole which is useful. There's not a great deal to say tbh. They extend and tighten in place absolutely fine with no hint of slippage and the handle is foam which is a step up from the solid plastic or rubber ones imo.The strap adjustment is simple and doesn't seem to slip once at the desired length (unlike my Trespass one) and the inclusion of an anti shock system means the poles compress and spring back ever so slightly and is surprising considering the budget price. The overall minimalist look and feel of them appeals to me, if you were to press me for a criticism I'd maybe suggest a bit of texturing on the curved top of the handle section and that a secondary foam grip below the main handle wouldn't hurt. but again, citing the budget price this seems a little unfair.I would recommend these poles to hikers who want to try out using a pole/s to see if they enhance their hiking experience or people who already use a single pole and want to give the double pole method a try. They would also make a good choice for a back up set to keep in case of loss or damage to an existing set.Another reason could be if you'd bought a hiking pole tent and wanted a set to use with it.

Trekrite/ treklite / walk right
Great poles for a brilliant price, they seem to be as strong as any trekking poles I've personally come across, and probably work just as well as some at 4 times the cost. The wrist straps are comfortable and the handles have a nice feel to them. They arrived with accessories that include one pair of mud baskets, one pair of snow baskets, a pair of rubber feet for flat tarmac, roads paths & the like, plus a pair of rubber protective ferrules, "AND" a storage bag to keep them in. Already done a 5.5 mile hike with them and they saved me falling on my face half a dozen times whilst walking over slippy ice patches.Time can only tell aboutĥ longevity but I'm very pleased with my purchase and I would definitely recommend giving these trekking poles a try.
