Excellent quality, good delivery - but this size weighs a ton, if you are after a lightweight version check the weight before buying. I've seen the lighterweight version in action it's brilliant making short work of rock hard soil.

Really does help with digging out roots!

I had a large shrub root to remove which had been in place around 20 years until I cut it down recently. The task was daunting and I bought the root slayer on the strength of the reviews. I’m glad I did. This thing makes easy work of slicing through small roots and even thicker ones with a few hits. I am very impressed with the weight and easy hold handle. Worth the money.

Our garden is heavy clay which has broken spades and garden forks before. This fierce looking shovel slices through it more easily than standard shovels and has really helped digging the garden.I am less confident in its abilities as a "root slayer". It is good for cutting through fairly small roots, and the serated edge does help saw through thicker roots, but it doesn't "slay" thicker roots as the marketing blurb suggests. Roots of 2cm diameter or above are still a problem. The shovel will saw through them but it requires a fair bit of effort.Overall though I am glad I bought the shovel. It has made digging through the clay much easier. There are now a number of spades of a similar design - with sharp pointed ends. I cannot compare this one with any others. I feel this one was worth the money and a good choice. Other cheaper ones may also do as good a job.

Some early reviews wasn't so good for speedy delivery. However I got it withing a week. Sturdy really useful. I hate spades normally as I'm not very heavy and have always found it hard to get a spade into the ground. But l love using this. So much easier and faster. I had bamboo and this helps. It comfortable to use too. I'm only 5.2 foot my partner is 5.7 foot. Great hight for use. He loves it to and he has injuries from old motorcycles accident. Damage to hips,knee and ankle. In fact he's got me to order another one. And it's on its way within 2 days of ordering.Thanks guys

Probably the best spade I’ve ever bought. It’s great for getting out old roots. You have to develop a technique so you can use the saw sides but it works very well.

This is really so good in getting roots out. Really does what it says. Had a big area to did out with lots of tree roots. I tried using a normal spade in the beginning but didn’t get anywhere. The sharp edges really does cut the roots and make it easy to go deep and loosen the roos to get it out. Definitely worth the money.
