Was unsure about trying this, but so glad I did. Helped to clear up my hormonal acne and I can definitely see a difference in my skin when I don't use this product

Brilliant stuff!
Best thing I’ve found for my hormonal acne on my chin/jaw. Smells very strongly of alcohol when you apply it but generally it stops any deep under the skin bumps from getting into a full blown irritated red situation that takes ages to clear. It’s by no means a ‘miracle’ cure but for sure helps to keep my skin more under control than it has been

The best for breakouts
This product is wonderful for break outs. At certain times of the month I'm prone to spots especially around the chin area and I find if I apply this at night before bed they're really reduced in size and clear up within a few days. It does sting and it does feel very astringent and slightly eye-watering but it really seems to do the job. Make sure you give it a good shake before using as the product seems to seperate.

It works on 60-70% of my spots. Some just come up as usual, but it's worth it for the few that I know would turn into monster spots otherwise.

love this! every time when i get one of them big nasty sports that i know will hurt and wont go easily - i use this! use it only on the spot! it will dry it quick and it will not leave you a scar! i just wished that wasn't as liquidy as it is- make it tricky to use it that way.

Having read numerous articles about using this to help reduce spots I ordered this. A small amount goes a long way and the results are visible within a few days

This works - the only thing that ever has done ❤️
I've tried everything to treat and prevent hormonal cyst like spots around my mouth. This is the only effective product in halting these very painful and long lasting blemishes. Buy this!

This is going to be a long review since I love this product so my apologies in advance. I hope it helps someone. Advance Warning - Both of these products have isopropyl alcohol which is *extremely* drying. It works but its possible to end up with irritation like I did. After about 4 days I ended up with a slightly itchy rash. There was no redness but a bunch of tiny bumps. It reminded of contact dermatitis. Fortunately my breakout was done by then. If it happens, don't freak out. Stop using the product for now. It will go away and it can be covered up by makeup without irritating the skin (be sure to use non-irritating makeup.) It can take up to 2 weeks ago. Mine did. The skin may have a slightly rougher texture for a couple more weeks after that. Exfolation can help. You will be able to use the product again in the future but use it sparingly and only on the areas needed. I think what caused it for me was putting it over the whole area of blemishes and being lazy instead of exactly where the spots were. It might seem like an unpleasant side effect but I really needed to get rid of the breakout that just kept multiplying. It was worth it to me as I think it was my fault for not being more careful. It isn't guaranteed to happen to you but if it does I wanted to share my experience. It will be ok I promise. I bought and use this in conjuction with the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion so I left the same review on both. I use them together based on another reviewer's suggestion so I can't rate them separately. That being said, oh my god this totally works. I was seriously blown away. I got a very unpleasant hormonal breakout of papules (blind pimples) on my chin during lady time and whenever I get them they take forever to go away because the infection is so far below the surface. To make matters worse anytime one went away another would show up. I had about 4 in the same spot and they were very painful. I really didn't want to spend that much on a product but the breakout had been there for weeks with no improvement from anything else I used and I was getting desperate. Below is a product description and how I used them. Buffering lotion - This product you can shake before application. Its a very thin, white liquid that's rated by Badescu as being better for Cystic Acne Drying lotion - DO NOT SHAKE. A lot of people have been making comments about how the product settles. Its supposed to and the directions clearly say do not shake it and to use a cotton swab to dip it in the "pink sediment" then apply. This product is rated as being better for whiteheads. For my routine I waited until the evening and cleaned my face then applied the buffering lotion to the blemishes with my fingers as the instructions said to do. I waited about a minute until that dried and then used a cotton swab to apply a bit of the drying lotion. I used the products for 5 days just to be sure but I could have stopped at 4. I now have NO blemishes anymore and I'm just working on getting rid of the pigmentation marks. Those I can deal with. I'm extremely happy with this products performance and I highly, highly recommend it. Here is a bit on the different types of blemishes because it can be confusing trying to figure out what you have (Correct me if I'm wrong. Its based on my own personal research.) Whitehead - Standard, unremarkable. Not inflamed. Just looks like a small spot of pus. Goes away quickly Blackhead - Open pore with oxidation causing it to look dark. Not inflamed. (These two products aren't designed for blackheads so I don't think it'd work on those.) Pustule - Inflamed whitehead. Infection at the surface but there's a lot of angry redness around the blemish Papule - Inflamed whitehead. Infection deep below the surface. Aka blind pimple. Its a closed comedone where the infection can't reach the surface. These can last weeks. They are hard to the touch and painful. Cystic Acne - Large, inflamed acne. It is one of the more severe types. It will feel soft the touch and be large in size. Rupture can cause spreading of the infection and lead to more outbreaks. Nodular Cystic Acne - The same as cystic acne but the infection is deeper under the skin and will be hard and painful the touch. Will not rupture but will not go away as Papules eventually do. The two types of Cystic Acne will likely need to be treated by a professional if severe. I'm not sure how these two products would work on small, minor Cystic Acne but its worth a try. Based on some of the other reviews this does work if its not very severe and all over the face. Note - Before you panic like I did and think your Papules are Nodular Cystic Acne, there is a difference and its size. Physically they feel the same but Papules are 1cm or less where as the Nodular acne is 1-5cm. Hope this helps!

Si

This is a MIRACLE product! If you think you're going to waste your money on another product meant for only mild acne.... think again! I've had cystic acne since I was a teen and have literally used every kit, remedy, wash, prescription cream, and even antibiotics and none of them worked like this! This works lightening-fast to start shrinking even large groups of cysts. I rub this onto clean skin *into the cysts* and surrounding area with my fingers first, then use a thin piece of sterile gauze and rub it deeply into each cyst or pimple 2x per day. It absorbs instantly and disappears into skin. You can apply moisturizer and make up right over it with no problem. The cystic acne breakout I've been battling started in September and just got worse and kept spreading, despite treating it day and night. I even had to resort to wearing band-aids on my face because the swelling, leaking, and area was so painful and ugly that I was terrified to let more bacteria enter. Nothing I tried helped at all and even worse.... new cysts kept cropping up in new places. I wasn't even leaving the house without wearing band-aids because no way make up could cover this. After the first 3 days of this Buffering Lotion (I'm also using the special healing powder).... it was like a miracle. The new cysts stopped forming and the really aggravated ones dried up and shrunk by 75% with no irritation or peeling. It actually made the area feel softer and smoother! After 5 to 7 days, the worst of the cysts are tiny, dry bumps and the others are totally flat and just have residual redness of the skin. The best part is that this also stopped the new breakouts dead in their tracks (they never got large) and instead, quickly came to a head and began healing. Months of hell and this Buffering Lotion healed my entire breakout (which was about 12 to 15 cysts... some in groups and some alone) in less than 7 days!! No new cysts are forming and I can easily cover the red marks with make up now. If you are tired of wasting money or going to doctors or using 5 step products that do little/do nothing.... this is your miracle product! And the price is SO worth it. I only wish they made a giant size because I plan to use nothing but this to treat acne for life! Seriously, whatever combo is in this liquid is magic and I'm so happy I gave in and decided to try it! *******UPDATE FEBRUARY 24, 2017****** I like to update on performance in case something has changed and now since my original review around Christmas 2016....once I got the breakouts under control with this product shortly after Christmas, I've had NO big breakouts at all since that time. I've had a few that "tried" to come out, but I immediately swipe a sterile gauze with a bit of this over the small pimples forming and they are gone before they have a chance. My skin has stayed clear except for a few small "attempted" pimples for the months following this purchase. I thought I'd have to buy numerous bottles and keep using it regularly, but it definitely attacks the problem and keeps it at bay and then you can use it VERY sparingly when you see redness or feel a bump appearing. This is will be a permanent staple in my cabinet forever. It just works fast, easily, and although Benz Perox works well, too....with this you have no staining of clothes and sheets and is so thin you can apply it right before make up or at night and it's invisible and doesn't ruin anything or have that "chemical" smell. My positive view of this has only increased since my original purchase months ago. Thank you for the continued clear skin!!! *The first photo is with FULL and HEAVY make up trying to cover the heinous breakout under my mouth, to the side of my chin. And even with layers of concealer, foundation, and setting power....the bumps are still evident. These were gone and never came back within about 2 total weeks start to finish (yes, I was platinum and went back to dark hair within this time....but both photos are of me within weeks of eachother)*

I'm 27 and on the healthier end of the spectrum, but I started getting little tiny sand paper bumps on my temples and jawline. For months it was just little bumps and I figured if I kept doing what I'd always done that had always worked then my skin would sort itself out eventually. Then within a few days they turned into deep cystic acne all over my cheeks, temples, and jawline. Like really bad. Like it looked like the sides of my face had been dragged across gravel. It was soooo red and swollen that it looked like an open wound. I have always had decent skin, not perfect by any means, but still good. So this is the first time in my life I've ever dealt with acne and all my normal go-to remedies for random break outs weren't doing a darn thing. A friend who had been dealing with adult acne as well bought me the drying lotion which helped. But I could tell it wasn't quite what my skin needed. So after looking at Mario Badescu's line I realized that was more for spot treatment, and the buffering lotion was for cystic acne clusters. I've use this every other night and the next morning my skin is always SO MUCH BETTER. In the AM I wash with a benzoyl peroxide wash Stiefel PanOxyl 10 Percent Foaming Wash with a charcoal exfoliating sponge Konjac Sponge - Activated Charcoal - Facial Sponge , then I moisturize the heck out of my skin Facial Moisturizer, Organic and 100% Natural Face Moisturizing Cream for Sensitive, Oily or Severely Dry Skin - Anti-Aging and Anti-Wrinkle, for Women and Men. By Christina Moss Naturals. and apply a benzoyl peroxide cream on top of that Nature's Cure Two-part Acne Treatment, Female 1-oz . I know many people say to apply the benzoyl peroxide cream first, but I've found my skin is much happier if I do it after the moisturizer and it still seems to dry out the cysts. I also was prescribed an antibiotic that I take with the tablet that comes with the benzoyl peroxide cream. I take fish oil, and a probiotic, and vitamin D, and a skin and hair blend also. I use makeup for acne prone skin as well and wash my brushes at least once a week. At night I wash with a sulfur soap- Grisi Sulfur Soap with Lanolin for Acne - 2 Pack with the sponge - then I put a prescription retinoid cream on then this buffering lotion (sometimes I moisturize depending on how my skin feels). And it seems to still be working really well. I'm still waiting for my acne to completely clear up, but it's much much much better than it was a month ago. No more crazy deep painful cyst clusters. I'm guessing I could go without this with the prescription stuff I have. But I think it would take a lot longer. Since I use this every other night I can see the difference each morning. It's always so much better the nights I use this than the nights I don't.

I bought the whole series of this face care, collection including wash, toner and most notably, this buffering lotion. It has zinc oxide in it which I believe does help with smoothing and overall acne care, but it also has alcohol in it and it BURNS on any zits you may have. Maybe the burning is a placebo effect because it feels like it's doing something, but I can't say I have less acne or my acne went away faster. It also smells so strong due to the alcohol that it makes my eyes burn. I will say it does seem to smooth the spots I use it on and it feels slightly less greasy.
