Brilliantly executed product, well built, well supported and easy to use - it will improve your playing and your performances.
Recomended by JustinGuitar.com (who I strongly recomend back for 'free' lessons) and is superb. Enables huge strides in learning, composing/constructing and performing. You can upload songs and backing tracks to one stereo channel (thanks JamTracks for sorting the free JamTracks which are superb especially the Jazzy Blues) so you can play along or slow them until mastered on the other track. You can just capture your noodling and then build the best ideas into multilayered tracks with bassline, chords etc. You can lay down a basic blues chord pattern and just go pentatonic crazy over the top. You can lay down more complex chord prgressions and really 'hear' as well as practice your modes. You can now do band practice without your band mates (or all parts if you have no mates!). Nothing has improved my play more than actually 'performing songs' rather than just practicing. Also you can record your basic dry sound (after any overdrive/booster used to colour the tone) and then can experiment with re-amping/effecting that signal to get your perfect set-up - somethign which does not go down well at band practice but can hugely effect the quality of your performance. And as stereo you can amp two channels seperately - lead and backing chords etc. It is an incredible tool. But given so many DAWs out there where this really hits is its useability - it is true bypass so you can leave it on your pedal board all the time without sucking your tone. So its already there if you have an idea or you want to hear something back or want to practice something off an online lesson/track. And it works via simple foot clicks - one tap to record, one to end recording, one to play back one to stop, one to overdub another part and a really useful one - to delete the last layer and re-do. So this is something that you can actually use as part of your (bands) practice or as part of a live show without it getting in the way of that organic process. Its well built, works and has good customer supprt (and at JamTracks too). I think the X2 is definitely worth the few pounds more than the original and the bigger box and hence space on the pedal board for the more fail safe useability of the seperate footswitches. And then you have the USB link to upload or download your loops (and those of your band mates/ others / professional track producers/ your favourite songs) so that it becomes a great link between your computer and the outside world and your own creativity. I don't know how I lived before my X2!!!

Great bit of kit just one real limitation..
I toyed with only giving this a 4* rating but realised if I did I'd just be a right idiot to do so..... Lemme explain! So I bought this on the back of cracking reviews on here and online elsewhere. I was looking for a loop pedal and hadn't heard of this particular one before and just happened to stumble upon it on a daily deal one day. It gives all the spiel about being designed by guitarists for guitarists etc. Well it does deliver! It's a great little looper provider nice clear recordings/signal. Instructions are so simple it's a joke not because they're rubbish but because the thing is so damn easy to use! Also it is tiny, and I mean super tiny it's like half the size of any of my Boss pedals. I've never managed to fill it up in terms of time layers etc and don't think I ever will. Connections and bypass seem great too. I like the colour design size simple single knob etc too. So why did I you with 4*? Well it's limitation is that I can't 'bank' recordings in the same way that you can with other pedals, but then I already KNEW that was a limitation before buying it! And to be honest bar a few times it would have been nice I find this is a cracking little unit they I love using to jam along to myself or test some layering of guitar tracks prior to actually going through the effort of recording them in Logic Pro X. Plus it's great for just messing around with if I feel like jamming with myself or sticking something on endless loop and leaving it on to annoy the other half..... :)

Hours of fun
This is the first looper i have ever bought and over a year down the line i am still just as excited about it as i was when i first ordered it . It is a great looper.... looper... looper..... This really simple to operate! you push once to start a recording and push again to stop it, At which point it will play over and over again and you can repeat the process as many time as you wish to add new layers with a limit of 5 minutes recording time ( i have not managed to get to the point when it wont let me record anymore yet) This is really just great for crafting some unique sounds or just messing around with ideas. A fantastic and fun little pedal (its the size of a medium match box) with none of the over complicated and confusing controls you find on most loopers. It needs to be powered with a 9v lead though as there is no room on this for a battery so bear that in mind. I could use this thing for hours and often do so! Very well packaged and timely delivery. 5 stars!

Very good fun once you get the hang of it
Very happy with the quality and functionality of the item. Very good fun once you get the hang of it. Great for improving one's technique. Surprised that there were no instructions in the box other than a one page quick start guide. Although the item bought is supposed to be new and looks and works like new in every way I find myself wondering whether there might almost be a story here as the lack of instructions or explanation where to find them just feels wrong somehow. I also don't understand why Amazon is selling this for two different prices with this one being much cheaper than the other listing. I'm not moaning as I think I got a great buy but it's just a bit unusual. Anyway, it works perfectly and looks great so I'll have to make do with the quick start guide plus the internet for learning how it works.

Brilliant looper pedal; very impressed indeed.
I'm delighted with this looper pedal. It's so easy to understand and use. I've already had lots of fun experimenting with it. I'm a 78 year old violin novice. Well pleased and many thanks.

Ok but uninspiring
Small pedal, make sure you know its dimensions before buying, it doesn’t come with a power supply. Other than that, it’s ok but rather uninspiring

Empfehlenswert!

I'm going to start off with a slight caveat which is that I haven't owned this looper for very long and I probably haven't explored all the features yet. Let me just say that so far this pedal is the perfect marriage of ease of use and powerful versatility. I've experimented with a lot of software and hardware based loopers. I decided it was time to go with a hardware looper since when you're playing variety or open mic gigs when you have to be on and off stage pretty quickly, you sort of need to be able to plug in and go... something hard to accomplish with software based loopers. Most of the hardware based loopers I had experimented with seemed to have limited functionality to create anything that would generate interest and dynamics as the song went on and seemed to be mostly meant for the guitar player who wanted to lay down a riff and practice a solo over it (useful, but not exactly a way to spice up your live performance). On the flip side software based loopers seemed to involve too many "moving parts" and became unwieldy when trying to layer or create secondary loops. Too much input was required to create the desired effect and distracted from the performance. What TC electronic has done is basically to leave the important parts to you and do the rest. Highlights of the pedal include; the sync/serial switch which allows you to either run both loops simultaneously or create loops that work as separate parts of the song, the all stop function and the ability to stop and start loops while remaining in sync individually. The FX section is a pretty cool added feature as well as the ability to independently control levels and the rate of decay of old loops as new ones are added (many of you I'm sure are aware that as intense overdubbing occurs, things can get a bit muddy). The sound quality of the unit is also amazing and the fact that you can add in backing tracks created in your DAW through the USB connectivity is pretty cool. My only complaints are that some of the switching is sometimes hard to accomplish. For example to stop an individual loop (i.e. stop loop 1 while keeping loop 2 running) it requires a double tap which for is sometimes hard to do without sending it into a single tap for overdub (perhaps this could be solved with external MIDI input, still looking into it). The other thing I think could be improved upon in this pedal is the versatility of backing tracks. At this point you can only load 1 backing track per loop button and any kind of MIDI input doesn't allow any further versatility there. I would like it if there were an interface through the USB connectivity that allowed you to program your preferred inputs for each command on the unit. Overall, this thing is fantastic, and besides a few quirks it's very intuitive and streamlined to use and will allow you A LOT of creativity with your looping. Personally I've been doing experiments with a mandolin going through a Boss OC-3 Octave Pedal creating pizzicato viola/cello like lines under my mandolin.

Slowly getting to grips with the 2 pedals and successfully did a nice 12 bar loop with 3 part harmony, and yes, with a mike overdubbed on the guitar tracks. More interested in a straight 4.5 minute backing drum track used non-loop, and overdubbing from there. It took 1 minute 15 seconds to sync in 45 megs of wav file after I undocked the ditto X2 and will add tracks from there using the drum track as a metronome. The possibilities are pretty exciting as to what can be done with this neat contraption. Reminds me of my recording days back in the 60's. Just love it !!!!
