The NKJV, Holy Bible, Larger Print, Paperback: Holy Bible, New King James Version

This is a great bible has large printed words. Easy to understand than the KJV Bible. Also I am new to Christianity and comparing this bible with ESV Bible. Looking forward to getting closer to the Lord Jesus 🙏 🙌

Great book to read .well worth the money.

I ordered this New King James Version (NKJV) after finishing an Alpha course and this version being recommended by a family member who considers the King James Version (KJV) as the standard against which to measure all other translations (which is a fallacy by the way). Other reviewers have already covered most of the features of this Bible and the font size is definitely the best feature. The two column layout means that the reading flow is a bit trickier and it can be harder to spot things like quote marks and who the speaker is. The chapter heading are helpful as are the plentiful explanations of the background to the Bible and each book in it. The English is American spelling but who cares? Translation: it follows the KJV and because it uses modern (well 20th century) references, grammar and terms, and so the meaning is far more obvious. It sits comfortably alongside many other modern translations and is considered to be the closest to the KJV itself. Now many ill-informed conservative-minded people rail against translations that use more modern language and terms that differ from the KJV saying they are "inaccurate" and they lack the poetic beauty (or similar points). That whole argument is a falsehood. Why? Because the KJV translation simply translated into the contemporary English usage of the time. Many words, phrases and much grammar from that time is simply no longer used today and not recognisable in current times. This introduces a barrier to understanding which defeats the purpose of the book entirely. Also, being "poetic" might appeal to some, but that was incidental rather than a created intention. The actual intention was to communicate not create word art. It So why not remove these barriers and get this version so you can understand the word of God more readily? I highly recommend it. Other recommended versions are the Revised English Bible (REB) and the New International Version (NIV) both which also have functionally equivalent translation but which use some different wording & grammar to convey the same or similar meaning.

I was waiting all day for this Bible😭 it is literally so beautiful for the price the Bible was exactly what I needed and it has so many useful texts in the Bible for people who may have just started their journey with God and it also gives scriptures and stories to read if you’re unsure to read. It’s also great that it gives the history behind the Bible and this version what I also like about it is that it gives insight on who wrote the books of the Bible or who may have possibly wrote it. One thing I would like to point out though is that the Bible cover isn’t very hard so the pages are flimsy so you will have to be careful when handling it so it doesn’t rip but apart from that I’m in love with this Bible and can’t wait to read it.😼

The larger print is much easier to read and the updated King James edition is version is much easier to follow, the language has been modified to a more modern English.

While this paperback was at the £4 mark, the item was increased to £4.99 so I usually buy when Amazon offers a £5 discount now and then. Having already liked the Thomas Nelson NIV Larger print version I knew this font size suited me and many others would appreciate this, too. There are many translations and even cheaper economy-priced Holy Bibles sold on Amazon, yet it's these larger print versions I find better value as they are user-friendly. Even so, a better design would be a wider page margin all around to make it easier to open the pages. The cost would be higher yet well worth the better way to study chapter after chapter rather than just a page now and then. When I was in School, we used to make our own book covers for our textbooks, yet I'd prefer a transparant plastic style book cover if I could get one to fit this large book size with hundreds of pages in it. I've noticed that some deliveries are in plastic containers featuring a top zip and maybe that style would be useful to protect the paperback rather than some A4 plastic cover for our files would. It could help to have a separate piece of paper or card with the page numbers for each of the 66 books. If printed out professionally, then these could be a quick way to access the books at Church or Bible Study Groups or at home. Poets could easily refer to this version's page numbers for certain verses just as Church sermons could if everyone in the Church was issued with this item. Whether such larger print versions from Thomas Nelson could be offered as prizes or gifts or evangelism tools, there are golden opportunities at hand thanks to Amazon deals and discounts online and received as email updates. So setting up SEVERAL Amazon email accounts is helpful since some emails would surely reach many of our Inboxes even if other emails ended up in the Bulk or Spam folders instead. I received several separate accounts getting discounts or offers if I streamed music using Amazon Music app installations such as on the Amazon Fire Stick 4K item. Lots of Christian songs and Gospel hymns and some with lyrics, too. So why not take the fullest advantage of what's on special offer even if it's just for a week or a month's trial? I know that I saved a lot of money this week already! (Thanks!)

I have ordered several of these and I believe that they are good value for money, even as backup versions of your own Holy Bibles, or as gifts for others. Amazon search results can show different translations and versions, so it is worth checking what is on offer. Even so, the larger print versions of the Holy Bible are easy to read and to study. I like the front cover of the Thomas Nelson paperbacks, yet other versions are worth considering as well. Thanks to Amazon, I can visit now and then to see if there are more in stock. How Many Bibles Did You Share? I do not know about you, but here is our golden opportunity to get what is currently available and to save the web pages as bookmarks, or view our history of purchases, or use the Buy Again option.

If treated with care, the thin pages can be opened and viewed. I would have preferred a much wider margin space between the pages but didn't want to pay for the hardback versions online. The item was discounted by Amazon and I got a further discount. The 99p a week Amazon Prime deal helped me with a few free delivery deals as well. I have several Amazon email accounts and was able to buy 5 separate Holy Bibles recently. Checking our emails and our Spam or Bulk Folders helps us keep track of the latest discounts. Then it's time to do the research and compare prices. In this case, the important points are the Holy Bible version and if larger print or just large print instead. This NKJV item has quite a few extra study guides for reference. It would help to use plastic book covers that suited this large book size or make some covers using wrapping paper and sellotape as we did when we went to school.
