Great quality Griddle Pan
Very pleased with the Griddle Pan, good weight and well made so looking forward to using it .along with all my other cast iron pots AMAZON ...I was horrified with the packaging it arrived in, just a brown paper envelope, the handle of pan had poked out through it just relieved it wasn't damaged , Cast Iron needs PROPER packaging, box and good padding round it ,as Cast Iron can break easily

Great product that needs some extra care
I searched around quite a lot before purchasing this LODGE griddle. I did not want en enameled product, I wanted something I could blast on the burner until very hot without having to worry about damaging the pan or the coating. I read some negative reviews but this has not been my experience. Be aware: the pan is HEAVY, the handle gets super-hot and cannot be put in the dishwasher. Cleaning it also requires some time. Instructions say not to use soap to avoid removing the seasoning: I ended up using 2 drops of soap and a nylon brush as the cooking grease would just not come off with water. I have been doing this a few times and my food has been great every time. I also dry the pan on the hob to make sure there is no water left at all. I can finally grill some aubergine slices and they WON'T stick to the pan. I grilled a salmon fillet yesterday for the first time: it did not get stuck to the pan and it was grilled to perfection. The picture attached is my actual pan after 2 months of use. Bottom line: this is a 'demanding' pan because of the way it is made. If you are not prepared to spend some extra time on it, look elsewhere but do not blame the product.

) good pan. bit heavy but good going to last ...
It is pre seasoned but it takes some cooking to get used to, before putting meat on the hot pan just put a bit of veg. oil to lube it :) good pan. bit heavy but good going to last for ages

Solid, heavy utensil
I bought this mainly to cook steaks and burgers and it is used only occasionally. Beware of it size as the dimensions refer to the overall size of 10.5 inches whereas the actual cooking surface is 8.5inches, something to consider if you’re planning to cook 2 good size steaks. Nevertheless it does what I expected from it, delicious steaks and perfect burgers. I’ve not had problems of some reviewers with cleaning, in fact it cleaned as easily as some non-stick cookware. One other thing - it is HEAVY and just as well it has 2 handles. New to cast iron cookware I’m thinking of getting the Lodge frying pan.

Love cast iron and lodge knows how to make good cookware
I have both a skillet and this grill pan. It is beautifully sturdy and I know it will outlast me, future generations will continue using my grill and pan! My only gripe is the non stick coating, which is just burnt fat that lodge sprays on their pans and then cooks until it carbonizes. I am not particularly fond of it and with time it has chipped off. This is not a problem as I can re-season my pans myself, but I would've preferred if it were unseasoned and instead I could season it myself from the get-go. Also, cooking acidic foods (like tomato sauces) for a prolonged period of time is not the best idea, as they do seem to acquire a slight metallic taste, so be warned.

A frying pan to avoic
My biggest culinary regret of the past two years. This lunky frying pan might have a famous name and reputation but it weighs what feels like 10 kilos and is so cumbersome to move with food in it (even heavier, if you can imagine). The two handles are scorching hot, you need two gloves to move it around, on and off the heat. And when you clean it, the deep grooves make a perfect splashboard for the greasy liquid and spatter it all over the sink and surrounding areas. Whoever designed this could not have been a cook! It's going on the next charity drop. For 21st century cooking...someone must make a finer and lighter, more hand-friendly Cast Iron pan..... somewhere.

Excellent
Really good product. Had for a while before started using, followed the instructions from a previous reviewer on washing and seasoning the skillet (as I lost my instructions). It cooks meat really thoroughly and nicely with the stripes. It is heavy and all the pan gets hot including the handle as it is one piece of cast iron. I have silicone handle covers which takes care of that. As mentioned it is heavy therefore I am extra careful when moving the pan when it contains hot oil etc. That said I am really happy with my purchase.
