Took it apart when i got it and its a well made reel even if it was costing twice what i paid. Drag is nice and smooth as you would expect carbon to be. Minor lack of sprayed on top coat on inner part of reel but then who cares. Outside is fine. I built an acid wrapped 7ft rod for this to dog big sheepshead out from between pilings and rocks. Locked the drag down and got the job done. I own way too many rods and reels, from Finnor daiwa penn and Shimano. This a good and the price makes it a no brainer.

Nice and smooth and it looks strong. However, I ordered left orientation but I received right and I am hesitant to return because it will take time and I really like this reel.

KastKing never ceases to amaze me with their line of products and attention to detail. I fish, a lot (4-5 times a week during the season) and I'd put these reels up against any major brand on the market. The Spartacus low pro is awesome and I really love the matte finish. When I need a new reel I keep finding myself coming back to KastKing, and I own many different brands (Lews, Abu's, Shimano's, Penn's, etc.). It truly is a great product for a great price, something that we don't normally see in this industry much anymore (bass boats costing +$100k...insane)! If you're in the market for a new baitcasting reel, I recommend the KastKing line. Next on my list is their Speed Demon for my frog rod!

This is by far one of my favourite baitcasters, super smooth and reliable. The drag is also very smooth and the casting is relatively effortless with rarely any backlashes. It does struggle a bit with very light lures but that’s just the nature of any non bfs baitcaster. Overall a superb reel and one I highly reccomend for the price! Great job again Kastking!
