The life of a station agent..
The engineers and conductors are the people most think of with old time railroad operations. Equally important were the Station Agents who were the face of most railroads to their communities. Professor Grant does his usual excellent job of presenting the history in a way that is easy to read and educational.

A great insight into operations.
This was a great book. Plenty of personal stories of a forgotten occupation. I enjoy model railroad operations and there are a number of insights into how things were done at small stations. This was a great read.
