This tamper is the very finest you can buy. It is sculptured beautifully. It is so heavy. The weight itself will do the job without any effort. The finish is dazzlingly beautiful. It truly is a work of art. I think it can make your espresso, cappuccino or latte Taste even better.

Even if I didn't need this device for tamping espresso, I would still love it. As many other reviewers have noted, it is good and heavy. It anchors the hand, filling perhaps some primitive need to feel secure and rooted. And it is equally satisfying to look at. And it was pretty cheap. And, of course, it tamps my espresso, but even if it didn't I would still be glad to have it. As Ivo Andric notes in his novel BRIDGE ON THE DRINA, a wooden bridge will serve to get folks across a river, but a magnificent stone bridge with arches and a kapia brings joy to the heart. My plastic tamper works perfectly well, but it is now in the drawer, where it will stay.

Good quality, very heavy.

Initially, I was concerned about the diameter of the tamper. I have a Starbucks Espresso Maker, and the coffee basket is two inches in diameter. I know that 2.54 cm equals an inch, or 25.4 mm equals an inch. So I wanted a tamper that would measure about 50 mm. I got this model because it came in a 49 mm diameter (I thought that the next size up -- 51 mm -- might be a bit too large). I also bought this because of the price (some of the tampers on the Amazon site are EXPENSIVE! When I got the tamper, I was amazed by how much it weighs. I just put the tamper on the grounds and let the weight of the tamper compress the grounds. I guess this is how it was designed and how it is to be used. The tamper does a fine job and I would take it over what I had earlier -- a light metal tamper on a handle with a measure from Starbucks.

Awesome! Solid! Lasted longer than the machine

Very dense and heavy, clearly a high quality product. Ordered this because my espresso machine came with a very cheap, plastic tamper. This one looks and feels great, and is exactly the right size for the job. Does it actually affect the taste of the espresso? I might not have enough of a refined palate to answer that, but it definitely does a better job tamping it down than the cheap plastic one I have.

This is a solid sturdy metal Tamper. Its heavy enough that you do not even need to press down. The weight itself is about all you need. With a tiny tap the coffee is very packed. I like the classic design that I want to buy one as a paper weight for my desk

I bought a De'Longhi Coffee machine recently and the original tamper from De'Longhi is quite expensive, so I bought the Apexstone tamper instead and I am very happy with it, as it's suitable for my De'Longhi pump espresso maker!

nice, smooth, sturdy just what one would expect from a coffee stamper. nothing to fault, just make sure you check the measurements for your coffee / espresso maker. cheers!
