Get ready for a Challenge!
The local tire shop wanted 93.00/tire so probably like most of you I figured I could save a few bucks and look elsewhere. The tires I bought were 20X8X8 and were a direct John Deere L100 replacement. I read the reviews and knew they would be difficult to install but I embraced the challenge, I mean im a “go-getter” how hard could it really be? They arrived on time and came wrapped in that plastic wrap just like everyone said and it did misshaped /distorted it. So I did what others did and let them sit in the Oregon sun (maybe that's my problem right there) for a couple days to reshape themselves. After a few days I figured it would be worth the try... yeah the bead wasn't even close to the rim so I decided to stop while I was ahead and just have the local tire shop get it done for a small price.. totally worth it when I saw the challenge. So local the tire shop couldn't even get it inflated. They even used forced air or what they call the "cheetah" and still nothing. So they gave me back the tires and said “good luck, maybe come back later if they relax a little”. Well, now I figured it was all on me to give it a hard try. My first thought was to warm them up so they can relax. So I soaked each tire in super hot water bath in my utility sink for about 6 hours per each tire. Then I let them relax overnight. That did help... but still not enough to remotely get the bead close to the rim. My next move was trying a heat gun... That didn’t last long as I could see that after 20 minutes there was little to no improvement. So then I started calling friends for advice to which they suggested I use ratchet straps to get the tire in place! Great Idea I thought! So I tried that…. Nothing. I even tried a few different ways… and nothing. So now ive wasted a bit of time trying to get this thing to seal. So I decided to try taking it to another tire shop… Maybe I got them to relax enough? Les Schwab (tire shop) said they would do it for no charge as all they were doing was airing it up.. so I was all about that! I dropped the tire off and said “Good luck! When you Yall finally give up please just put a tube in it, I’m done trying!” Two days later I got a call saying they were done and it was ready for pick up. Upon picking up the tire I was thoroughly amazed that they didn't use a tube. The service guy told me it was an after work party to try and get them inflated! They succeeded and I’m sure there's now a “no tractor tire” policy at all Lew Schwabs! Sorry guys! Haha. So the tires are now on the tractor, I have successfully installed and mowed the yard, the wife is once again happy and life has been restored. The tires seem really well built, sturdy and thick. I would highly recommend the tire build but minus 1 star as the are a son of a gun to install. So before you purchase you better get your game face on to try and install these! You might have better luck if your able to leave them out for a few weeks before you need to mount them… Good luck!

Like many, my tires arrived compressed
Like many, my tires arrived compressed. I have seen several complaints with regard to this. Having worked as a mechanic I am here to tell you that while automotive tires are not compressed this way for shipping, most large lawn tractor tires are. This is not the shipping people, this is the manufacturer who does this. The trick is to remove the shipping straps/materials and place the tires in a warm place to "decompress." They will eventually "pop" into their original shape as manufactured. If you try to mount them too soon, and you put them at the proscribed pressure, you'll end up with your tire rolling off the rim repeatedly. In fact I've seen cases where people did this and the tires ended up with a permanent saddle shape. If you don't have a nice warm sunny climate or a good heated spot (like right below a heat duct) in a shop, you can use a heat gun on low to warm them. I have done this in winter time when replacing tires on winter equipped snow rig tractors. Just warm them gradually. In one case I ended up heating and reheating the tires on and off over the course of a couple of days until they finally took shape. The tires themselves perform well. They arrived in excellent shape. Other than a little "flash" rubber at the bead of one (which was easily trimmed to make a better seal) I have no complaints with the quality.EDIT: I did forget to mention one problem with the tires. Actually only with one tire. In spite of them being, as you can see from my included photographs, Carlisle Turf-Savers, Made in U.S.A. and 4 ply, one tire had a nasty defect. The side wall height is imperfect, in fact off by about a centimeter. This caused the tire to be very difficult to mount to some degree, and causes it to lose air due to imperfect bead seating on the rim. I solved the problem by installing an inner-tube.The problem with "Made in U.S.A." these days is that US standards are nowhere near like they used to be. Once upon a time American laborers did a great job because they took pride in their work. Now most of our labor force is made up of entitled folks who'd rather take a day off whenever possible.

Good price tricky to fit
Good price but tyre walls collapsed probably from stacking them which made impossible to fit and seal against rim - forced to use inner tube to inflate them properly.

Impossible to fit
The tyre looks well made and very robust. However it is also very stiff. I knew it would be a job to fit and so ran it over to our local tyre fitters. They were unable to fit it after trying 2 hours - said this is the only tyre they have failed to fit! I have since tried and am nowhere near to getting even the first side on. Not really sure what the answer is, currently I have no lawnmower. Any tips anyone? ☹️

11x4.004 Carlisle Turf Saver
this is the second 11x4 I have purchased from you although the same manufacture it has a wider profile. I shall replace the other existing when the hawthorn cuttings has made the unrepairable. Good value tyres
