Dreamland Series has me in a chokehold
Cal, a struggling alcoholic and the last of the Kane brothers to address his grandfather's will, faces a challenging task: spending the summer at his grandfather's house in Lake Wisteria before selling it. However, upon his return to Lake Wisteria after six years, Cal is astonished to find Lana, his childhood best friend and former love, living in the house with her daughter. Their reunion jeopardizes Cal's chances of inheritance, as Lana, still harbouring resentment for Cal breaking her heart, co-owns the house and has no intentions of selling."Final Offer" unfolds as a new adult romance, blending tropes like forced proximity, second chance romance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and single parenthood. The novel is the third and final instalment in Lauren Asher's Dreamland Billionaires trilogy and by far my favourite of the three. New readers need to begin with the first book, "The Fine Print," to avoid spoilers. The story explores themes such as loneliness, family, wealth, love, heartbreak, mental health, and addiction. Trigger warnings include absentee parents, alcoholism and addiction, and the death of a family member (before the story).Cal, portrayed as swoon-worthy and compassionate, reveals his commitment as a cat dad and establishes a heartwarming connection with Lana's daughter, Cami. Their connection is so emotional and raw, that catching the lump of tears in the back of my throat was worthy of an Oscar. The narrative explores Cal's journey of using books as a healthier coping mechanism for his mental health struggles. The highlight of "Final Offer" is the enchanting trip to Dreamland, the Kane family's theme park, featuring a princess makeover and fireworks. The incorporation of comedic elements, such as Cal volunteering for an embarrassing costume at the Strawberry Festival, adds a delightful touch. The continued presence of the other Kane brothers and their partners contributes to the story's charm. The ending, both for this instalment and the series, is deemed fitting without revealing any spoilers. It is by far my most emotional read of 2024.In conclusion, "Final Offer" offers an enjoyable experience, especially recommended for contemporary romance enthusiasts who appreciate second-chance romances.

Lana & Cal
Tropes: ▪ Second Chance ▪ Single Mum ▪ Forced Proximity ▪ Friends to Lovers ▪ Small Town ▪▪ Check Trigger Warnings ▪I really enjoyed Final Offer, I thought it was such a good ending to the series. I loved Cal in the previous books and knew I'd love his book. I really recommend checking the trigger warnings for this one though. For Cal to inherit from his Grandfather's will, he has to meet all the stipulations; which is easier said than done when the only girl he's ever loved, is standing between him and his inheritance. Lana's heart was shattered when Cal left and chose his demons over her. Now Cal is standing in front of her and she can see the man she once loved still in there but he still very much has his vices.I really adored Cal and Lana's story. I thought it played out perfectly and I'm so glad we got to see Cal's story. It is definitely the harder of get three to read just because of the subjects, but I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this series!

Perfect end to the series
It’s no secret that this has been one of my most anticipated reads since I met Cal Kane so when the arc appeared on my kindle two days ago, I dropped everything to read it and I could not stop. This is hands down my favourite Lauren Asher book.Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way; Callahan Kane this THE book boyfriend, THE Kane brother. Golden retriever energy, funny, witty, caring and a dirty af mouth? I always knew he was gonna be my fave LA man but it’s good to finally confirm it 😌 disclaimer: I had full Cal blinkers on for this book.Lana is badass, she takes no shit and she looks out for her people but she was a little frustrating as she constantly drew her own conclusions instead of listening to them. Their banter and tension was SO. GOOD. They had me out here giggling and kicking my feet and blushing (when they weren’t making me sob).Lana being there for Cal but knowing she deserved better, and Cal working to be better so he could be the best man for her had me so in my feels. Watching him transform from a words man to an actions man was everything. One of my favourite things to read is character development and this book does it so well. It takes you through the highs and lows of suffering with self love and self acceptance. Watching Cal suffer with his addiction and loving himself had me sobbing. People are so mean to him and the way he thinks that’s what he deserves broke my heart.Getting inside Cal’s head where you get to see the opposite of the witty, funny brother he lets everyone else see. Where he’s anxious and self-deprecating and worried. God, it had me sobbing. This book hurts. The way it portrays alcoholism and shame and anxiety and doing the wrong thing even though you know it’s the wrong thing because you don’t know any other way was so powerful. But watching him come out the other side and watching him heal his relationship with himself, and others was so rewarding.Even though I’m sad this series is over, it was the perfect farewell to the Kane’s and I can’t wait to see what Lauren has in store for us next. 🥹🫶🏻

Cal, Lana and Cami steal the show in dreamland book 3 (spoilers)
I don’t remember loving the other two books the way I did this one.I wasn’t sure what to expect with cal, I feel like we got such small glimpses of him from the other books but my god was he worth the wait. I don’t know what it is about last brothers books, because between cal and breaker from Meghan Quinn’s series I’m hooked. Both those boys out did their older siblings.I would recommend this book to friends, I don’t want to say I wouldn’t re read it, I just can’t picture it at this point. The writing style was wonderful, Lauren has a great flow to her work and I always enjoy it. I was hooked on the plot and desperate to see cal get better.Characters were amazing, I’m obsessed with cami? She was so lovable. I feel like sometimes kids are written so poorly in books but cami is amazing and arguably steals the show?Lana was not your typical hopeless, annoying heroine. She was smart and strong and sure of herself but she had her faults and weaknesses like we all do. She felt like a real person rather than a book character and I think those are the best kinds.Sweet cal. What a man, what a journey. The addiction was very well written, showing a side of alcoholism I’m not sure many know about or realize how common it is. I loved watching him grow and seeing him change. Like I said above, easily my favourite Kane brother.Anyways I don’t give out 5 stars easily, but I laughed, I cried and I felt immersed in this simple yet intricate book.

meu marido cal kane

read like only a bit, loved that it kinda shows the true part of addiction. But also like the entire time I kept saying “be fr” because it’s just genuinely unreal. Anyways I just know there’s someone out there who loves this.
