Great product and exceptional customer service
A little over a year ago we bought this Shark WD201 HydroVac on recommendation of a family member. It worked extremely well. However, about two weeks ago went to use it and it was totally dead. We went through all the recommended trouble shooting procedures on their web site…but no luck. On the outside chance Shark might to something to help, they answered the call almost immediately and I got to talk to a real person who was incredibly courteous and helpful. To our amazement, he listened to our situation and offered to send us another unit absolutely free. We received it a few days ago. I don’t write a lot of these reviews but I was so impressed with this company and their customer service I thought I just needed to express this in writing. We have one other Shark product and will not hesitate buying more as needed.

Super impressed!!
I am a professional house cleaner and buy lots of floor vacuums and machines. Some good, some just ok. I’m telling you this little battery powered floor/carpet machine is absolutely amazing. It is deceiving because it holds a just a little bit of water and solution, but it goes a long way. It works seamlessly from hard floor to carpet with the push of a button it leaves floors, clean and shiny, and the self cleaning dock system is amazing. I was skeptical at first, but I am totally on board !! It cuts my “mopping” time in half and I use it every day in 2-3 homes. The charge lasts quite awhile and the charging pad is so light and easy to transport that I can plug it in at a clients home and it will be ready to go within 30 minutes. It is literally a house cleaners dream come true!

I wanted to like it...
I originally purchased in January 2023. When it works, I love this mopvac. I've tried a few different brands over the years and the Shark is by far the easiest to use and easiest to clean. But it breaks. The first one I bought stopped working 5 months later. I only used it once a week to do normal clean-up. I always clean out the tank, brush, etc. afterwards. But it would just stop working and flash an error light that supposedly means the water tank is empty (even when it's not). It was unusable because it would just stop seconds after I tried to use it. I called Shark customer service and they were really nice. The rep said it was likely a bad motor and they sent a replacement. The replacement had a bad battery. It would start flashing after 10-15 minutes of use. (The first vac I had could do the whole house...about 30 minutes). Now here we are 2 months after they sent me the replacement and it stopped working just like the first one. Today it started flashing a red error light (which means the dirty tank is full) but the dirty tank was empty and clean water tank was full. It just stops working every minute or two. So...this vac is great when it works. But it just stops working. And a $270 vacuum should last more than 2-5 months.

Not for serious mopping needs.
So I waited until I used this product multiple times before writing this and I was really hoping that, for $200, I’d have better things to say. First of all the clean water tank is pretty small. I’m going to estimate that it cleaned about 150 sqft before needing a refill. And then you need to use their concentrate. It comes with enough for 5 or 6 tank fills. And the usage of the water from the tank is continuous. You don’t control when it uses the cleaner and when it doesn’t, it is always using a steady stream of it. Which seems wasteful, especially with such a small tank. I imagined it would be more like the swifter mop vac where there was a button you could push to dispense cleaner, but nope. Second, it has a really tough time cleaning up anything dried to the floor. By the time I come downstairs in the morning my mother has usually already spilled coffee in a few places. She has really bad tremors. And to clean up the dried coffee spots on the tile I have to go over it 5 or 6x. Once she spilled sprite and the floor had sticky spots and it took even more passes over each spot to get it completely up. It is great for a spill right in the moment. If I spill something while cooking or pouring a drink it is great to clean up those kinds of messes. It also does make the floors look great when I am done. But at the cost of multiple water tank fills and going over lots of areas over and over again to get them fully clean. I have not tried it on carpet, so I can’t comment as to how well it performs in that aspect. Anyway, I wish it performed a bit better for the cost, but I’m giving it 4 stars because I still think it does a good job, just with more effort than I had in mind when I originally purchased it.

Great product
So I have had this for maybe about 6 months now. It works really well. It's better than a traditional mop and gets the floor far cleaner. I would rate a normal mop 6/10 in terms of cleaning and give this a 9/10 Important to note U will need to clean it regularly. Self clean is a about as useless as it sounds. It struggles with uneven surfaces so if your tiles or hard would floor have too much texture I would not recommend. But it's excellent for normal tiles. If u have more than 1000sq feet do not buy the cordless the battery dies after about 25 mins. The corded will be a better overall experience. I have the cordless because my apparently is not that big. It has a noticeable weight when both tanks are full but it's not bad. Overall I would say if love a spotless floor and and the ability to clean at any time of day get this.

I love this thing so much!
What it is- easy to use, easy to fill, easy to disassemble to empty and clean, easy to push around, easy to charge, easy to self clean. Battery life is pretty good- I can usually get my entire main floor as long as I don’t go to long between uses and have to make extra passes for dirtier floors. What it isn’t- great at getting firmly stuck on dirt if the floor- the brush doesn’t work like w scratcher or scraper, so anything particularly stuck on with still require elbow grease to scrape it off the floor. General dirt comes up with just one or two passes, but caked on dirt not so much. If you are way behind on mopping, you will probably want to do a thorough mopping, and then use this to maintain that clean. I hit my floors once a week, maybe twice if I’m lucky. I have a stick vac to get big crumbs here and there in between, and this is the most consistently clean my floors have ever been. It’s easy to use, to assemble and disassemble. It’s not heavy. It’s not excessively loud, but I wouldn’t call it quiet. I kept seeing tiktoks for tineco vac mops, and then I saw this, and I am so glad I went with this one.

Mostly satisfied.
This is a pretty good wet vac. There are a few things I wish were different. I wish there wasn’t such a gap on the sides and front. It’s probably an inch and a half all the way around the front so you can’t ever get up next to the baseboards or corners. Sometimes it will go ahead and suck up a lightweight dust bunny but not anything else in this zone. This means I’ll at some point have to go around the edges with another mop or rag or something to get this area clean. The next thing is the handle doesn’t go down very flat before lifting the front of the machine off the floor. This makes it harder to get under chairs or tables because of the angles. Also if my son (who is 8y) uses it he has to hold the handle up high so it’ll stay on the floor. This is a bit awkward. I’m 5’4” and it lifts up if I just extend my arm all the way down. I can imagine this would be pretty annoying for anyone shorter than me. (And there are plenty of people shorter than me!) next, the lights are a joke. It’s like someone stuck a couple Christmas lights on the corners and called it good. You get 2 tiny beams, one on each front corner. Nothing in the center. Beams go a few inches and that’s all. You’re better off just turning on all the lights than trying to rely on these for anything at all! As far as rugs go, it’s ok. I had a couple that were getting pretty worn and dirty. They were practically no pile indoor/outdoor rugs. The vac started to get them cleanish but I just decided to spray/scrub them with carpet cleaner and rinse in the bathtub. I now go over them about every day or so when I clean the rest of the floor. Hoping the machine can keep them clean rather than trying to return them to clean. It’s definitely not a carpet cleaner. Oh another thing ... we have a lot of tile floor in our house. While it cleans the tile well (it’s textured too) it doesn’t touch the grout. At all. Not even a little bit. If I pour water on the floor it will suck most of it up from the grout lines but doesn’t scrub them at all. Thankfully we have dark grey tile and matching grout. It would be nice if the brush had a bit fluffier pile to it to get into the grout lines. Also I’m not sure about the self clean function. I feel like this cleans the brush but not necessarily the machine insides. I often take the roller out, clean any hair (we have a dog and 5 cats) out that I can get to, take the dirty container out and clean what I can out of the hole, clean and empty the container, wash the roller out and put it back sopping. Put everything back together and pour some water on the floor. Turn it on and suck up the water. I do this to wash the insides of the machine better. The water is always pretty nasty when I do this ... after just cleaning. I’ve even done this after using the clean cycle and got pretty gross water. I recommend doing this to rinse the insides of the machine periodically if not after every deep clean you do. I like the smell of the cleaner. It doesn’t last very long at all though. I’ve started using about half as much as it says to use and it seems to clean fine. I’ve also used some other gentle cleaner and it worked fine. I also wish the battery lasted longer. I have a 1900 sf house with no carpet. I can get about halfway through before it runs out which means I have to clean in shifts. It also takes a while to charge from dead. But I didn’t want to have to deal with a cord ... Ok what I like ... the cleaner smells good and seems to clean well and not streak or leave a film to attract dirt. It cleans up messes well. I don’t do puke well and the cat puked on the floor the other day ... it cleaned it up like a charm like it never happened and I didn’t have to do anything but vacuum it up. I like that the docking station is also the charger. I like that it’s light weight and easy to steer. I like that it’s easy to fill up and empty/clean. I need some replacement sponges but I currently rinse it out and set on my floor vents to dry while the vac charges back up. I like that it’s ready to go and easy to clean up a small area real quick or do more of the house. Not cumbersome like a carpet cleaner. Overall this was a great purchase even though I have lots of complaints about it. I would buy it again. Just wish they’d address my complaint list before putting out the new model!

Pros and Cons!
This is not a perfect mop, but no mop is. That being said, I am rating it 5 stars because of all the mops I've purchased in the last decade or so, this one does the absolute best job cleaning my laminate floors. It does not streak which is huge and something I cannot say for any other mop I've used! Other pros: I love the all-in-one vacuum/mop feature (a true time-saver), I love the smell of the cleaning solution, it is convenient that you can use it on area rugs, and it is seriously kind of fun to use because it has a lot of pep! Now, for the features that I don't really love. It is a pain to clean. Yes, I know that it has the "self-cleaning" feature, but that only gets you so far. You still have to pull off the brush, clean off and unwrap all the hair/fuzz, wipe it down, etc. The water tank is also disgusting to clean and huge chunks of wet, goopy dirt-balls get trapped in it that you need to wipe up and throw away. In fact, any time you are dealing with water it is a pain, and I find myself constantly having to lift up the mop and wipe the stand and all the drips around it. This mop is also expensive to use because it burns through the not-so-cheap cleaning solution pretty quickly. In the end, I consider it a win because it cleans so well. It has certainly not solved all my floor-mopping woes, but it's not bad if I plan out when to use it so I can minimize the clean-up.
