ABC See, Hear, Do Level 3: Learn to Read Blended Beginning Sounds

Good but with flaws
Pretty good but with some flaws, in both this book the first book. In book 1, they use an ant for the letter A. When you pair A with an N it changes the sound from the common A sound. They could have used alligator for a better representation of the sound. In this book, they use “thorny devil” for the TH sound but then use all words that have a different pronunciation of the TH sound, such as that, then, and this. They also have the word “frizz” as an example, but spell it incorrectly as “friz”. My kids don’t notice these little things but a book like this that’s trying to teach kids phonics skills really should be more accurate.

L r, s-blends, digrsphs
Blends- bl cl sl br cr fr gr pr sc sk sn sp st -- digraph ch sh th -that- whI use this to teach blending of blends, they do not need to be memorized. I use this to teach memory of digraphs--they are letter teams that must be known/memorized as a team. Has picture cues to remember letter sounds for reading/sounding out. Does not have pictures to show meaning of the word read.

Great Book for Early Readers
My kids love the first one, so we’ve moved onto the next book. My oldest really enjoys reading the words and my youngest loves the pictures and movements. I also gave this book as a gift to a beginning reader and she is really excited about being able to read the words. We use this book in our reading routine as a warm up before playing phonological awareness and reading games. The oldest also use it independently and play school with their younger siblings, doing motions, sounds and reading words. Ages 2-5 have all really enjoyed these books!

You NEED this book!
We got the first book in this series and I knew that we NEEDED this book! It's such an amazing tool to help my little ones learn to read! I love that it includes multiple ways of learning, and if you have ever taught, or have a younger child, you know that they need to be moving. We love the movements that help us remember the sounds, and make it fun to learn the blends! My son will pick this off the shelf so we can practice reading together, and I LOVE it!
