I have the larger version of this that I purchased for feed - and one for water...but I needed one for grit (and will need one for oyster shell)...In years past, I now know I wasted SO much food as they chickens scratched at the feeder - and rain got into it.But this style of feeder is a game-changer - it prevents nearly any waste at all from the chickens scratching around in it. It also protects it from rain/snow and keeps the contents dry.The plastic is dense and very durable.Kudos to RentACoop for providing such high-quality feeders and waterers...they knew just what we needed!

Maintenance takes less time and their waterers stay clean. The best I've used in 50 years, bar none!

Very small feeder works great in a brooder for baby chicks. Not messy and you can fill it to last a couple of days.

I feed egg shells back to my chickens instead of buying a calcium supplement but when I put them in an open container, they would waste so many that I ended up buying supplements or dealing with soft shells anyways. Since I ordered this feeder, my hens don't waste the egg shells and as a result we have hard shells and happy chickens because they always have calcium available. With this feeder, what used to last a day now lasts two weeks or more. HUGE money saver!

My adult chickens won't even try to stick their heads in the small hole. I will save it for use with babies in the future.

I use these for grit and oyster shells. It would work well to feed a couple of chickens but a bit small if you have more. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and keeps the contents dry. Perfect size for what I use them for.

With having pest issues in the coop, I thought this type of feeder might help the chickens to have drier kibble pellets, but they just can't figure it out. It assembles well, it's strong, and it does the job. I just have silly yard birds. I'll train up my next flock on this style of feeder!

Disappointed with today’s delivery, past products from this company were well made, came with clear directions. This container had no instructions, came with what appears to be a sticker I’m to apply to the container, the little door to close feeder fell out wasn’t able to get it back in. The container will be difficult to clean.
