Duchy Originals Organic Lemon All Butter Shortbread, 5.3-Ounce

This is the second cookie from this brand I've tried. The first was the oat; which I now know is more durable than the rest. I actually ordered both the lemon, and the stem ginger at the same time. I chose to open the lemon first. Sadly they're mostly in pieces because of their thin fragile nature. The taste however is wonderful! The lemon rind/zest flavor is very apparent; but for me, nothing artificial in taste as another reviewer suggests. It's also pleasantly buttery like a shortbread should. If you don't mind crumbly pieces, I'd say give this a try! I actually got them for half the price they normally are, so for less than $3, I can't complain too much. As for packaging, I'm not sure what more could be done to ensure the cookies arrive in whole condition. There's nothing to protect them in the thin cardboard box. 6 is stacked on top of one another (in 3 pairs), and packaged in a thin plastic barrier (you get 2 such packages per box). The fact that they come from the UK, could mean that they're damaged in transit to the US. I hope Waitrose could figure out a better packaging idea. Perhaps those intended for import could be packaged differently?

These have a wonderful flavor and texture. They are delicious with tea and the lemon flavor is one I haven't been able to find in other cookies. They so tend to crumble a bit out of the package, though.

I disliked that not a single cookie was intact. The entire package was crushed. A simple padded envelope is not going to protect the product. On the positive side it was by far the best tasting cookie Imhave ever tasted. LOVE the lemon! Extremely disappointed over all however.

These cookies are fine but I was not overly impressed and will not purchase again. Quite expesnsive for what you get.

Super delicious! The perfect amount of sweetness and lemon. But over half the cookies were broken. I didn’t deduct any stars because I think the problem had more to do with the Amazon packaging (just a very light plastic bubble wrap envelope) than the manufacturer. I’d gladly order these in bulk if they were available this way and wouldn’t arrive broken.

To be fair the cookies don't taste bad, however this is a very small pkg. of cookies for the price. The cookies are thin and do not ship well even though Amazon's packaging is not deficient. The cookies could not make it intact to a plate to be served. Would recommend just going to the grocery store and buying shortbread cookies for less money.

These are delicious! Very strong lemon flavor and taste like an expensive gourmet shortbread, slightly soft and crumbles in your mouth. I could have eaten the entire box in one sitting. It is a small box, has two individually wrapped packs inside with about 6 cookies per pack (guessing from memory). These are worthy of putting in a gift basket. I will be buying these again.
