3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound, 36103, 1 Gallon, Fiberglass Oxidation Remover for Boats and RVs

I recently used the 3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound on my boat, and I’m blown away by the results. After years of wear and tear, the gelcoat was looking dull and oxidized, but this compound worked wonders. It effectively removed the oxidation and brought the shine back without causing any damage to the surface.

Although quite pricey, This product is unbelievable. Makes an older boat hull's gelcoat look like new. I highly recommend this product to make your boat/fiberglass/gelcoat look like new

It worked wonders on my boat, removing years of oxidation and restoring the shine. The application was smooth, and it didn’t take much effort.

Works as promised, medium agressive but removes stains and imperfections.

I have a dark blue fiberglass trailer that was damaged on two sides by some very hot weather--over 115 degrees, far hotter than what my area has ever had in the past. I've tried other oxidation removers without much, if any, effect. This worked really well, although there are two spots I may want to hit again. I applied the 3M product with a buffer and then washed off the residue. I followed that with Meguiar's Marine/RV M4516 High Gloss Polish (Number 45), again applied with a buffer and washing off the residue. Then Zymol Z503 Cleaner Wax applied with a buffer but removed by hand.The results were incredible. Before the damage to the trailer was noticeable from many feet away, but now you have to look fairly hard to see it. There are two small areas I may hit again with all three products, but even they are acceptable.If your damage isn't as great I believe 3M also makes a low and medium oxidation product, but I did use this on an area of light damage with a light buffer action and it worked incredibly well.

I used this on my boat which had a 3 year oxidation layer from SoCal sun. Worked great with a electric buffer. Leaves a shine, but you still need to go over it with polish, as designed. Would buy again for heavy oxydation.

I restored a couple of jetskis over the winter and when it came time to clean up the fiberglass I thought I had a good recipe. The bottoms of these skis are black and were heavily oxidized. I spent hours and hours and blasted through a lot of heavy cutting pads using Mequiars 49 heavy oxidation remover. I struggled through one ski and then decided to try this stuff for the second ski. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! This stuff was a 1 and done for oxidation! Unbelievable!! I used a heavy cutting foam pad on a DA polisher and followed the basic instructions and it was a night and day change from the Meguiars.

The best cutting compound for gelcoat, hands down. Worth every penny.
