Long Overdue Upgrade
Bought this to replace an aging GTX760 and the only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Compared several versions of this card on a handful of sites and read forums as well. Ultimately I chose the Gigabyte because I run a Gigabyte Mobo and have been well pleased with it's performance and reliability, and it has the extra cooling capacity which is important for where my computer sits and what I run on it.Installation was seamless, and the gaming performance improvement is noticeable.I also run BOINC and the calculation results increased over 100% increase in performance in a few days and was still climbing before I added new projects to work on. The CUDA calculations have a huge impact and allow me to crunch projects specifically designed for cards with this technology. Even running all CPU(i7) and GPU cores at 100% capacity the temperatures stay within a good operating range. The only blip in all of this, which, so far as I can tell doesn't affect what I want to do with the card, is the AORUS graphics software that installed with the card. It's kind of buggy and kept crashing over the first few days after install. Once I looked over what the software was doing I decided I didn't need it to autoload, so I disabled it. Figure if I need it, I'll start it then. The price per performance ratio is excellent. After running this card for three months now I am still satisfied with it. A few updates: Have experienced an occasional driver crash, which the system generally recovers from, though it has on a few instances also corrupted the data set BOINC was crunching. As for the Aorus software - it's crap! I upgraded to the latest version (1.26) and the experience has been horrible. From the point I installed it I got the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. Over the course of 3 days after install I got more BSDs (at least five). Even uninstalled and reinstalled and it still craters my system. I cannot recommend the software, and without it, adjusting the card appears to not be possible. Maybe when another version comes out, I'll try again and hope it doesn't tank my system. Fan of the card, not the software application that comes with it.

Stable, manageable temps, no installation/driver issues.
The card has 3 small fans, which I though at first were not going to cut it. Turns out, in terms of temps, the card maintains a comfortable temp of around 60-65 Celsius under full load. In terms of acoustics, I have not noticed any abnormal fan noice at any point during use, and the case is right next to me on the desk. I use a mid tower ATX case, with 5 fans ( 3 front intakes, 1 back exhaust, 1 top exhaust ) which might be helping it a bit to maintain temps. In terms of gaming performance it is a beast. 1080p gaming is a joke for this card, nothing I throw at it has proven too much for now. Checking out some benchmarks online, I can see that it is pretty competent for 1440p as well, most titles will play above 60fps on ultra. Overall, in my use scenario: 1080p high refresh rate/fps - it is an excellent purchase.

Only buy new!! Great card!
Tried getting a refurbished one originally. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT. Amazon cust. service handled it well and I did get a refund after the bad one was returned and tested dead. Original card was a Mini ITX card. Ordered this GTX new as a replacement for the ITX that didn't work. THIS CARD IS AWESOME!!! Easy to understand instructions, and the drivers and updates are easy to find. If you are inclined it can be overclocked (I am not going that route). I is butter smooth and is not very loud at all under full load with fans at 100%. Very impressed with the product and with customer service.

Great card, except for the COMPLETE design change.
This card is definitely a great buy for the money, considering it’s big brother, the GTX 1080 G1 gaming card is almost $500 more, and is only 38 MHZ faster, with just a few more CUDA cores. It overclocks at the touch of a button in Gigabyte’s software, runs great, quiet, and keeps itself at a stable temp. The only reason I docked it a star is because my previous card, the Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1 Gaming card, was supposed to be the same reference design, so presumably the EKWB waterblock should fit it, but when Gigabyte designed the V2 1070, they changed the basic design from a reference model to a custom board, so no EKWB block will fit it, like it would for the V1 1070. Now I’m stuck with a $160 waterblock I can’t use, and had to buy ANOTHER $130 block from Bykski, who is currently the only maker of blocks for the version 2 1060’s and 1070’s. If you have no plans for watercooling this card, I would give it 5 stars.

Runs it all
I spent a month deciding what I wanted.... was reading way to much on everything. Finally purchased this card, and it's perfect. It is the best option for the money hands down. I will say the fan noise is the loudest out of any card I have owned and others have noted the same... that being said, the fans keep everything cool no problem. Stop researching and buy it. This is a great cheep option to hold you over till Nvidia's new stuff drops in price.

First didnt realize this was refurb card but so far works great
It came early but I didnt know what it was till I got to it plain box I guess the white box it was in was the original box but it had no software installation papers nothing just a VGA card in a box. Had to go find software for it and wasnt easy but overall seems great.

Not a hardcore critic in gaming but......
So to start out I'm upgrading from a 1050ti to this 1070, both gigabyte. I was very impressed how easy this was to install, I actually had a harder time getting my old GPU out than putting this one in. I've only had it one day so cant give a prolonged use review but I can say that this thing is a beast in comparison and does everything I need. To get it out of the way, I love skyrim and when playing with my 1050ti on a mix of high and medium settings with some graphical mods i was getting around 40-50 average fps, sometimes dipping lower. Now with everything maxed out I'm getting around 120ish. The jump is amazing. I cant wait to test the full strength of this card and mess with settings and potentially ocing it if need be.Will update if anything goes bad or I notice things that hype me up even more.
