Can this be used to protect a crib from baby teething?

Yes, as long as the surface is flat, they are made of food-grade silicone. And we suggest to keep them for a few days before bitten by babies.

Can the product be used outdoors to protect patio columns?

I have only used them indoors. I will say the red sticky strips are pretty sticky.

Will the adhesive remove paint when taken off?

If the paint is not adhered to the surface really well, I would expect it to peal paint off. Good adhesives will even delaminate plywood. I have not had to separate these protective edges from anything yet, but my first thoughts are that it will peel any paint that is in anyway loose.

I see that this is easy to remove by heating with a hair dryer but will it re-stick if i want to place it elsewhere?

We suggest not to do so, cause the stickiness will be weakened.
