Volume doesn't work; have to turn off/on a couple of times to get it to work.

Very rugged, easy to connect, sound is clear. Functions as should .

Tried on multiple radios and crackling was always there.

I ordered this for my son's birthday recently. He is on the local Hazmat team and they use Motorola Wave PTX on their cell phones if they don't have access to a walkie talkie. This speaker mic connects with the phone using Bluetooth and is extremely easy to pair and use. Once paired the first time, this will work with the phone as if you are on a real walkie talkie and no one will know the difference. I couldn't find any reviews on ANY Bluetooth speaker mics that mentioned working with this particular app, so it was great to find out that it did. Please note it doesn't give the beeps a real walkie talkie does to let you know if your transmission will go through or if you're being walked on when you click the mic button. To be fair that is probably part of the app. I didn't know if I should give it 4 or 5 stars as nothing will be as nice as having a real radio but this is very close. Definitely pricey for what it is though, so I left it at 4.

The mic seems to be well built with nice features and a strong belt clip. But I have two major complaints. First, the microphone gain is very low. Others listening on Zello were having a terrible time hearing PTT transmissions. You need to speak very loudly with the mic directly to your mouth to transmit. Secondly, when keying the PTT button, half the time there was no channel up tone, so there was no way to know if you were transmitting unless you were looking at Zello and watch the PTT ring to turn red. The absence of this tone makes the microphone unusable. I tried to get support from Pryme. They sent me a replacement microphone, but both issues, explained above, were present on both microphones. If Pryme could get these issues corrected, it would be a good choice. However, I ended up returning the replacement microphone, as well as the original for a refund.

This hand mic works fantastic for using zello. Something I'd personally really love is if it would work with discord! I believe this is a limitation of the discord app not being able to easily set the ptt to something besides a giant button on the screen of your phone... but I can't fault the Microphone for that!Easy to pair and use and I really like the different options you get for clipping the mic as it rotates and has a loop you can flip out to use with many different ways to hang this.

The audio quality was poor, almost acceptable. The PTT often did not work, and there was constant static and popping noise from the speaker while on standby.

Setup is simple, if you first read the instructions, which I usual will not, but this time, It was challenging just to power the unit up... So, I picked up the the leaflet and proceeded to follow directions!I'm glad I did, it saved me plenty of time... Once it's all dialed in, it works great. I use it for zello. Having the PTT button makes using the app so much more pleasant on my iPhone...Overall, it's pricey no doubt, but once getting over that, the item itself works great!
