The Festival Collection, Book 3 (Succeeding with the Masters & The Festival Collection, 3)

A wonderful book for the Intermediate piano student.
I was more than pleased with this book, so much so, that I ordered book 2 and 4. The selections are easily played and as an adult student I am being introduced to famous composer "shorts". The pieces are usually 1 to 2 pages in length but some are up to 4 pages. The format is non challenging and I like that! The arrangements are easy and are true to a level 3 difficulty. The book I ordered has scan code at the back of the book to down load access to recordings with a smart phone. I don't have a smart phone but you can find these pieces on UTUBE and you can hear and see students and adults playing the arrangements. There are pieces from new arrangers in the book as well and I ordered a book from one of those arrangers after finding some of his arrangements being played on UTUBE. I especially like it that with the Succeeding with the Masters books has The Festival Collection which is a companion series with each book that you build on to your practice strategies. The best thing about the Helen Marlais Succeeding with the Masters collection is that the instruction progresses with each level . I am just a student but the instruction seems to develop within the student's abilty, style and performance abilty. As an adult, I really recommend these books to students at least in early intermediate playing levels. They are so good!
