Easy to use.
This is the extra set of hands, for those of us who work alone. It's easy to set-up, easy to hang and comes loose with the tap of a hammer at the base. My only minor dislike, is the thickness. But I understand it can't really be any thinner, and work like it does, so it's not a huge deal. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a helping hand, while hanging crown.

A big hep for crown
There is no experience quite like hanging a long piece of crown by yourself. You measure, cut and test for fit, scribe, cope, nail, etc. Tools like a “third hand” come in handy, but this improves on that as the floor stays uncluttered but it also insures your spring angle doesn’t drift. It is an ingenious design that works like a charm.

Size and length does matter.
I was getting ready to hang some crown molding by myself, something I have done in the past so this wasn't entering new ground on my part. And in honesty an extra set of hands at time would have been of help in the past when hanging molding of 12' or longer. After reading most of the reviews I figured how can I go wrong with this purchase? I was wrong, it turned out to be a not so good investment for my needs at this time. This is where size and length come into play. These hangers are fairly thick to begin with. One end of the hanger flips outward with 2 small nail studs that you anchor into the wall with a hammer. Then adjust the hanging height of the molding that you are installing on the wall. Problem comes into play when you go to release these helpful hangers. To release them you smack them on the lower end of the hanger which is designed to then pop the top outward pulling the anchor studs free of the wall. You need to have at a minimum of 6' free unattached to the wall free molding to allow ample room for the release of the hanger. If you are hanging say 8' section lengths of molding these make their use more difficult in hanging the molding.Like wise the same issue is true depending on the width of the molding. I can see where a 2.5" to 3.5" molding would not exhibit near the issues that a 4" to 4.25" molding would have. In my case I was hanging 8' long 4.25" tall molding which is not a good match for this tool.If hanging a heavier weight molding, make sure to anchor studs of the hanger in a slightly downward position or with no much movement of the molding during the hanging process the studs can come loose and fall to the floor. I guess that is a little irony, when I wanted to release hanger I had difficulty in doing so, yet when I really wanted it to hold the hanger released and fell to the floor far too many times. In the future I will sure another method I came across on the internet, lay a chalk line as a guide for the molding to align on. Hammer a couple of nails just below that line every 4' or so plus or minus. Lift the molding up against the wall and let rest upon the nails then tack the molding to the wall coming back and removing the nails that were used to hold and support the molding. To sum it up, I'm sure in design and proper application this works for some. But in the end, it is not a one size fits all solution.

So worth it
The media could not be loaded. Trying to get people to help me put crown molding up in every room in my house was not easy to say the least. While researching on how to install crown molding, I happened to run across this product. Because of Crown Control, I was able to install ALL the crown molding in my house all by myself. The one thing that you want to make sure of is that you place them at a stud to ensure that they don't fall out especially if your crown is heavy. If you are doing this by yourself......YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT.
