Works as described. Keeps squirrels from chewing on the birdhouse opening to make it larger. When it is larger birds will not use the house.

Sturdy with a Great price.
The Flickers are always trying to take over the small birds nesting boxes. These metal guards have discouraged the take-over and the small birds are happy again. Very sturdy and they come with screws. Outfitted all 5 of our nesting boxes.

These 1 1/2" metal hole covers keep the squirrels from chewing thru the wooden bird feeders. Those critters can destroy your plans to help the wild birds in winter that go inside feeder boxes like chickadees, woodpeckers, bluebirds, and tufted titmouse.

Hard to attach, and I'm not sure the birds like them.
These were hard to attach around the existing birdhouse entry, and we haven't seen a bird use the birdhouse since we put them on (we thought we were doing a good thing by making the hole smaller and less accessible to larger birds or squirrels). I wouldn't buy these again...I think I would opt for natural wood.

Excellent Hole Protectors
I use these on the birdhouses that I build and to ensure added protection, I add a wooden projection to the hole and place the guard around the hole. It works great.
