Size:12 1/2 Pound Buckwheat ground on our farm in Grundy county, Illinois. The buckwheat has never left the farm. It's the same as my organic buckwheat except that it was grown using organic practices on ground in a three year transition to certified organic. (Transitional organic) It was grown, harvested, cleaned, stored, hulled and stone ground here. My wife and daughter use it straight to make pancakes. A neighbor makes cookies and cake with it. Most of the hulls have been removed, giving it a lighter color and less bitter taste. The seeds are stored unprocessed until needed. I hull and grind it frequently in small batches so my stock is fresh. Allergy Notice: Our farm uses some of the same machinery to harvest and process corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, buckwheat and peas.

You're Gonna Like This Finely Ground Buckwheat
Having grown up on one of those nearly extinct family farms in the East, it is a pleasure to support a family farm providing organic, or in process of becoming organic, grains. Further, attention is paid to the quality characteristics in some of their heritage grains. All to the good, but rare nowadays. The buckwheat was milled 5/14 and received 5/26 by Priority Mail and was safely double bagged. It can be frozen if the one lb. bag won't be used within several months. A worthwhile Illinois family farm; a high quality, finely ground buckwheat, and an included pancake recipe- what is there to complain about? Fully recommended.

Excellent Buckwheat Flour
This is some of the best buckwheat flour I've ever tasted. It makes the fluffiest pancakes and doesn't have the bitter taste you can sometimes get from buckwheat flour. I've purchased several products from this same farm and everything is of the finest quality!

Excellent Fine Grain
Excellent quality. Very fine ground that works really well in bread. I used it to make a chocolate chip banana bread. It was the only flour involved. Delicious! I've made the bread with Bob's Red Mill buckwheat flour and still tasted good but with a far more grainy texture. And the Seversons include a Thank You note with the order which is a nice touch.
