Wish I had found these sooner!
My adult daughter is differently abled, and I have had to resort to purchasing stroller gloves or ice scraper gloves because they are large enough to fit on her hand comfortably while protecting her skin during hand mouthing episodes. Being able to place this around her neck with a Velcro attachment gives her a safer method of meeting her oral stimulation needs and absorbs access saliva as well. It is easy to rotate to a dry spot, and she is easily able to let it drop from her mouth without it dropping to the floor where it would get dirty. I am so grateful to the "Special Supplies Store" on Amazon for offering solutions that include the adult population of people with different needs.

So far, so good and a happy update
My grandchild has only worn these colorful cloth necklaces for a couple of weeks, but so far they are holding up well. She uses them as we hoped she would--chewing them instead of chewing on her hair, clothing, and paper. I've washed them and they have so far come out looking brand new. I wonder how the Velcro will hold up, but so far, so good. They stretch well enough that I could sew the ends together if the Velcro doesn't stick well and she pulls it off. She has worn two at the same time. They seem durable and just right, but I guess time will tell. At the moment, I would definitely recommend this product, and would be willing to buy again. This is an update, several months after purchasing. My grandchild still uses these. The Velcro has held up well, and so has the cloth. They wash well. I find that she is less stressed and anxious when she has these on to chew. Plus, they have saved her clothes from getting wet, soggy, and holey! She may not wear them every day but wears them often when I babysit her, at church, and even at school. I picked her up one afternoon, and she was happily chewing on her colorful cloth necklace. I am about ready to order some more as they keep disappearing at her parents' house. I need some for my home, too!

Works very well.
Bought these to prevent daughter from chewing on her clothes. Works very well. The Velcro clasp is very weak and could be stronger. But other than that, a good product.

Great product!
For starters, keep in mind that these are recommended for ages 6 and up. They are not toddler sized for those of us needing them for younger kids. It took half a day for my son to get used to the feeling of it, and still doesn't love wearing it, but once it's on, he loves chewing on it. It's been durable so far. The velcro does not feel weak and holds well. It is really long on my son, but, he's younger than the recommended age, so no big deal. I was nervous to buy just because the reviews were so back and forth but it's totally worth it. Excited to see how these last, with long term usage.

Excellent alternative for shirt chewers!
I have a six-year-old son with non-verbal autism. He is sensory seeking, and one of his habits is sucking on his shirt or chewing on his jacket zipper. I ordered these fabric necklaces and found them to be easy to clean. They satisfy his urge to chew but the velcro is not so strong that I have to worry about him getting caught or strangled. He will often bring one to me to put on him. They are very absorbent, but if your child drools a lot like mine, you may need to swap it out up to four times in the day with a fresh one. For that reason I bought a second set of these. In the photos of the necklaces, I tried to show some of the breakdown from many washes. They do become less soft and lose a little bit of color but still work well.

Wonderful colors and sturdy
My daughter loves this. I wasn’t sure if it would be sturdy enough but it has lasted so far. She loves to put her fingers in her mouth and before this put her pillow case in her mouth until it was practically nothing. I’m so happy we found this and were able to find a better alternative. Plus it’s nice to have all the colors.

These don't work at all.
He will chew holes in his clothes, destroys all buttons and zippers, but absolutely will not chew on these. I can only think that the material is not the same texture as a t-shirt, button-down, or his winter coat. If I were handy, maybe I could make all his clothes out of the same material these are made of, and he wouldn't chew his clothes.

Decently durable
I have a love/hate relationship for these things. I decided on trying these because my son tends to gravitate towards chewing on clothes....shirts, socks, whatever he can find and chew on. He has Down syndrome and has oral sensory issues. I thought these would be perfect for him. While he does enjoy chewing on them, he unfortunately likes to chew on them when they are not velcroed together....he chews on the ends. So now, he has chewed on the ends so much that it has ruined the Velcro parts on them to where they will not Velcro together as a necklace. Totally his own fault, but I wish I had thought about that before buying. He can still use them, just not as a necklace.
