Great Light for Corals
For the price I was expecting something cheap. But this light is very well built and supports corals, carpet anemones and macro algae without issue. This light is perfect alone for nano/pico reefs or you can get multiple for larger tanks.I’ve kept coral for over 26 years and I’ve purchased three of these lights because they work. The lighting is also very good, I’d say about 16k so on the blue side. All corals POP with their fluorescent shine under this light. The fixture itself is non-intrusive and doesn’t take away from the display tank. The gooseneck is also very sturdy and clamps right onto rimmed tanks as well as rimless tanks. The build quality is really good, the light itself is made completely of metal. The only down side (which is present in most expensive lights as well) is that the actual fixture itself gets warm, but for $30 I don’t expect this light to perform better than lights that cost $300-$800+. I actually think this is brighter than the AI prime.

Very strong light but does burn corals if you have a 1 gallon nano tank
I’ve had this light on now everyday for a year and a half. It does feel hot to the touch but that’s not an issue for me because I rarely have to reposition the head of the lamp. This light has done a phenomenal job at growing red macro algae, but that does go to say that any of the green macro variations have died in my tank. The small critters such as hermit crabs, sexy shrimp, bumblebee snails, and other snails have lived happily for their full life span.I recently upgraded some items such as the pump, outflow pipe, and an ATO. Even with all that my zoas, mushrooms, and clove polyps would shrink away to nonexistence. They would look all nice and pretty for about two months then slowly but surely they would die. The wattage of this light is too high for my tiny tank, even with having it fully extended above my tank. I’m switching to a 5 watt light I saw at a reef convention so hopefully that’s more than enough to sustain my tank.

Great nano reef spot light!
I was struggling to keep my coral frags happy bc of the standard white light that comes with the Topfin 36 gallon bow front bundle. This little full spectrum spot light did just the trick. It hangs on the back and shines perfectly through the peephole! I was able to hook this up to my existing timer easily and appreciate the simple cost efficient design. I noticed all my corals perk up as soon as the light hit them!

Light and plug get hot to the touch…
I wouldn’t recommend if you have small kids or animals as this lamp gets hot to the touch (by the light itself and where you plug it in!). We liked the light at first; it was impressively bright! The clamping mechanism wasn’t the best, but we would have dealt with it if that was the only problem. Perhaps ours was just defective and I should have exchanged it for another, but I returned the product.

Perfect pico reef light
Upgraded my three year old 2.5 gallon aquarium's reef light about 2.5 months ago, and paired it with a Nicrew dimmer/timer to simulate dawn and dusk. Mounted securely on rim. Corals continue to grow well with great color, so very happy with it.

Great supplemental or nano light
Great little light. I used mine to supplement my high end anemones. I tested the PAR and I believe it puts out around 75 a few inches below water level. This is perfect for my intended usage. Would probably work well for a softie nano tank. This light also does not get too hot and I enjoy the daylight color temperature.

It’s Not Terrible
I got this light for a tiny little 1.2 gallon pico tank, and so far it’s doing ok. As others say it gets very hot! There is no cooling fan so it is quiet but it gets hot so be warned. This photo is the most accurate photo I can get to real life for those wondering what it looks like in person. I can’t talk about the coral growth part because I haven’t added corals yet, but I’d imagine it being ok for some zoas and mushroom corals. LPS would be risking it and absolutely impossible to keep SPS like acros, might get away with a birdsnest but that’s about it. I am going to keep it for a little while and see how it does with corals, my only complaint is that there is just an on/off switch so it’s either 100% on or off. So your light adjustment will be how high the light is from the surface of the water. Witch is good if your going to use an external timer like me because some lights don’t turn on when the timer turns on. But as for the “one of the cheapest lights” on Amazon it’s ain’t bad.
