Great replacement cable at a great price!
The cables works great after my cat chewed through the original. No sound quality issues. Cord length is a little short, but I like that -- it's not getting tangled up anywhere, with longer cords in the past I've had to wrap them up. My only 'complaint' is very minor: the cable is made out of two different materials. The part that connects to my DAC is a standard plastic feel while the chunk that plugs into my headphones are a more premium-feeling sleeved cable. This isn't really a problem but it strikes me as a little strange.

Works great. Durable.

Great for k240s
Needed something that wasn't as outrageously long as the cable that came with my k240 studios, thus fit the bill nicely. Snug fit, quality materials, zero complaints. Big fan of the spring as strain relief instead of rubber.

Great value cable...getting 2-3 year lifespan for 1/3 the price of OEM
Originally purchased this to replace the stock cable on my AKG that started going bad after about 3 years, leaving me with one ear intermittently going out. Was initially just supposed to be temporary since I needed it ASAP and this had next day Prime shipping, and planned to only use it for a week or so until I could do some research and find a quality cable. Ended up having no complaints, eventually forgot about replacing it, and here I am 1 year and 9 months later before it started going bad (tinny sound and need to fumble with headphone end to clear it up). Very surprised this inexpensive cable lasted almost 2 years of pretty much daily use, with a lapel mic hanging off it adding a bit more stress to the connector. Decided to get a second one today when I noticed the same behavior happening again - I figure even if it only lasts a year and a half its still better value than spending three times as much as the original which lasted about 3 years (less than twice the lifespan for triple the price? Nah). Unrelated to the cable, I cant recommend AKG headphones enough - these K7xx Anniversary additions are still going strong three cables and 8 years later :). Update: 10/14/25. Second cable lost sound in the left ear, sometimes comes back for a bit if I play with the connector. This one lasted a month and a half shy of THREE years of nearly daily use, and honestly probably would have kept going if my daughter didn't like to yank on the cord lol. Stellar value for a quality cable that lasts about as long as the OEM replacements at a fraction (1/3rd) of the price. Same AKGs are still kicking too - they are about 11 years old now and are used daily!

Better Than I Could've Hoped
I bought a set of AKG K7XX open back headphones a few months ago (via Massdrop). They came with a decent-quality 10ft (!) cord, which I found WAY, WAY too long for regular use. Obviously I'd rather the cord be too long than too short, but still... 10 FEET LONG! It was unwieldy, to put it mildly. After a couple months of stuffing 7 feet of cord in my pocket, I finally decided to look for something more reasonable. That's where this 1.2m (4 foot) cord comes in. I was torn between this one and a similar one that had inline volume/track controls, but I settled on this one for the sake of simplicity... seems like fancy features are always the first thing to fail on such products. I wasn't sure what to make of this cord when I first got it. It's got a fantastic braided sheath, a metal spring for strain relief on the TRS end, and appears to have some excellent quality connectors on both ends. The 1/4" TRS adapter is screw-on, which I appreciate. The 3.5mm end connects solidly into all my devices without being ridiculously tight. And most importantly, the length is perfect. My only concern was the thickness of the cable. It seemed kinda thin compared to the 10 foot cable I was using before, and since I tend to use headphones with my HTC 10 without an external amp, I worried that I might lose some loudness through a thinner wire. Turns out my fears were unfounded. If anything, I seem to get more volume out of my phone now than I used to. I can listen comfortably at less than half volume, which gives me plenty of headroom. For the price, this cord is a downright bargain. If you're in a similar situation as I was and you're hesitating, don't. Just pull the trigger and order this. Mine arrived just in time to listen to the new deluxe re-issue of Faith No More's "We Care A Lot" album, and it's been an amazing listening experience.

Perfect replacement!
This replacement cable for my beloved AKG headphones works perfectly! It is actually more rugged than the one that came with the headphones, though not as long (this one measures 40 inches). That’s ok…I wrecked the original when the cord got tangled in my shoes and I, unknowingly, tried to walk away from my computer. The ends are high quality, the cable has a sturdy, braided fabric covering, and the 1/4 adapter is threaded so it screws onto the mini jack for a secure fit. The price is reasonable given the high quality and it arrived at my doorstep within 48 hours! If you need a replacement cable you can’t go wrong with this one!

Good cable
Needed a longer cable because the original was too short for reaching to the back of my pc, good product

Defective release button has gotten cable stuck in headphones.
I have bought these replacement cables multiple times in the past for my AKG K240's and they have all been great, until now. The release button for the jack that plugs into the headphones is defective and that end is now stuck in the headphones. I'm worried I'm gonna end up ruining my headphones that are not made anymore trying to get it out. Will definitely not be returning to this product.

For the measly sum of $40.00 you get a good-looking, good sounding cable, that has precisely machined connectors that click into place like a fine watch... quite impressed... :)
