Firstly, the reason it's been awarded 1 star for suction is because it isn't attached using suckers, but by a large single screw in the centre of the back.I have a 9 week old jack chi who is curious to crate train but resistant to the notion of being by herself. So any point of fun, interest or comfort goes a long way to encouraging her.This "mat" (it's more like a plate - it's rigid and sturdy) screws easily into the crate's bars and can be covered in any puppy-safe food of choice. We've tried peanut butter (uninterested) and various types of baby food (be careful and check what's safe and not safe first!). It'll take about half a small jar to cover it and comes with a spatula to make spreading and covering much easier (though it's very low quality - the flat head and the handle separate very easily).To wash, I found a nail brush and a bit of washing up liquid worked best - I don't have a dishwasher so can't attest to that at all. But puppy adores it (as do the cats) and it's helping to get her into the crate and having a cool time, and because it's screwed firmly to the crate wall, I can be confident that it's safe to leave for a few minutes unattended.

Absolutely love this! We use to have a lickimat (just one of the regular ones you place on the floor) but our dog chewed it all up. We love that this one can be attached to his crate so he doesn't end up pushing it across to the other side of the room, and it's nice and thick and sturdy so he doesn't try and chew it up like the flexible lickimats.Super easy to clean and attach/detach from the crate. Would absolutely buy another one of these if this one were to break. 5/5.

This lick mat is sturdy and attaches well to our crate, it can also be used flat on the floor. It's a little bit fiddly to screw in place but does grip really well and stays in place.My boy has only used this twice so far but does seem to like it, I've used cheese spread, Peanut butter and Pate on it and he's devoured them.It's a little smaller than I expected but fine for my 15 month old cocker spaniel and I would recommend if you want to keep your dog amused for a little whole whilst busy or out

I knew little puppy loves this Likey mat and it fits on the side of the cage, which makes it nice and easy for her to lick it and she doesn’t get it on her beautiful coat

Does not fit on heavy duty cages only the thin wire bar types. The screw at back is too short.Seemed well made and ideal for diverting attention. Had to return.

Bought this to attach to the crate in the car as I have a very excitable noisy doggo. He loves all things food so I know it would work. I did freeze food mushed on it, but made the silly decision to defrost a bit before use and he just finished it within minutes. So next time I will just freeze and let him work for it. But really handy to have a distraction in the crate and hopefully will last longer next time.

This was great to attach to my puppy’s crate whilst training them. It is also more robust than other licky mats - there are small teeth marks but my dog has not been able to take chunks off it which he has with the silicone style mats
