Fantastic and uptodate. Concise but complete. Love this book when I am on call. Easy reference too!!

Il testo è in linea con la tradizione autorevole della O.U.P., "department" della prestigiosa Università britannica, essenziale, pratico, efficace, strutturato in sequenze razionali di linee-guida. Al Neonatologo sono richieste tuttavia, in aggiunta alla dottrina relativa alla patologia neonatale, numerose skills tecnico-pratiche nelle procedure diagnostiche e terapeutiche, che si collocano al confine con l'anestesiologia e la chirurgia, discipline che non possono prescindere da un adeguato addestramento manuale su "simulatori" o sul paziente (neonato) stesso. Questo Oxford handbook non può essere considerato, a causa della carenza di illustrazioni e disegni schematici, un manuale propedeutico alla pratica neonatologica, rispetto alla quale non fornisce un quadro iconografico che consenta di presentarsi alla culletta del neonato con schemi visivi mentali che, per quanto "virtuali", possano aiutare a meglio seguire e attuare le direttive del Neonatologo esperto che funge da indispensabile guida.

This is very well written - the BEST of all the oxford handbooks I have used to date. It is very user friendly, delivers all the relevant information you need no matter your level of experience. Very useful as a pocket guide (I have the kindle edition) especially if you don’t have enough hours in a day (childcare pressures) to read loads of text or literature. Previously I have referred to American books which are useful but I’m glad that there’s finally a neonatal handbook that’s written by and for U.K. based neonatal teams. It covers EVERY single topic in neonatology and is very well organised. It includes relevant imaging (including cranial ultrasound), normal neonatal values, practical procedures, commonly used neonatal formulae, ventilation ... you name/think it - it’s in the book. I owe a big thank you to the authors for being so generous in sharing information aka teaching. I highly recommend this book.

Good and handy book

Book was in excellent condition and met my requirements.

Oxfordの名前に惹かれ、どうせ小さいポケットブックと気軽に購入しました。ところが中身がとても豊富で、分かりやすく、よく整理されていることに感心しました。持ち運びにも便利ですので、ぜひ新生児医療に携わる方は手元において,いつでも参考にしていただきたいと思います。お薦めします。
