Q: Can the lid come apart for cleaning around the push button?

Hi Paige, I do not believe that the lid on this MiiR allows it to be disassembled for cleaning. When I first started using it, I tried to do just that and quickly learned that taking it apart (without breaking it) was a “no go”. Up the upside … my workaround has been pretty effective. When I feel that the lid is need of a cleaning, I lock it in its open/drinking position and let it soak for a while in a small bowl filled with sudsy warm water. I’ve had good luck using Dawn dishwashing detergent. The lid comes out clean, fresh smelling, and ready to go. Good luck. Paul C.

Q: How to get rid of the metallic taste?

I have two MIIR mugs and never had a metallic taste. Stainless steel is incredibly inert and food safe. If you have metallic taste it's either from your coffee, detergent, or in your head.
