The 5 FT Link Belt 3/8 inch x 5 feet Z Type is an adjustable V-belt designed for lathes, table saws, and woodworking tools. It eliminates noise from old machines, offers customizable length, and boasts exceptional durability against wear, oil, and extreme weather conditions.

Good option but loud
1/4 the price of a factory belt for my Powermatic contractor saw. Probably smoother than a new factory belt; certainly smoother than the stiff one it replaced. Only unexpected down, it is louder than the original. Have to grab eat muffs every time. Small sacrifice.

Great Table Saw Upgrade
Bought the 3/8 inch belt to install on my 2 HP table saw (motor hanging from rear of saw) because the V belt caused my table saw to vibrate excessively. I easily installed this link belt and the saw dramatically smoothed out. It is now almost vibration free. If you use a pair of pointed nose pliers when adding/removing links, it's a very easy process. I had to make the belt about 2 inches shorter than the V belt, but still was able to roll the belt onto the Motor pulley. These belts are, in my view, a bit pricey, but they likely will last a long time. Very satisfied.

Smooth and quiet
Operates smooth and quietly. You need to install it, then run it a bit, it may stretch a bit; take out a few links. I purposely installed mine very tightly, and it stretched a bit and now runs quiet.

Strong and adjustable
I've been wanting to try an adjustable link belt for a long time. This one is strong and the ability to adjust the length means I don't have to worry about having to get an exact length.I ordered this for a woodworking lathe that I am building from an old set of Fine Woodworking Magazine plans. It is going to make it much easier to get the length I need.My drill press was an easy place to try the belt out since the pulleys are easily accessible. I adjusted the length to fit the pulleys using needle nose pliers and it ran smoothly. My lathe project will give it a good workout to see how well it holds up. I suspect it won't last as long as a standard belt, but the versatility of adjustability is great. I think I'll get one to have available as a spare in case of a problem with any of my other belt driven tools.

I got this one for emergency use. Looks fine.
I have used link belts on table saws and other tools for over 20 years. They have worked very well. I ordered this one to carry as an emergency alternator belt on an off-road vehicle that is often in remote places.I cannot speak to the durability of this belt but it looks good and it fits the pulleys on my application.

Link belts are a great upgrade, be sure to check your belt type
I have previously converted my cabinet table saw (triple pulley 3 link belts) and 17" bandsaw to linked belts and noticed a significant change in operating smoothness. My table saw used to start with a bang and turn off with a shudder, but that is gone. I am using this belt on my lathe and it's working as expected. It feels more stiff compared to the larger belts I have, but I think that's due to the smaller size and less leverage when trying to remove or add links. This belt size isn't standard in my experience. Most common belts are 3/8" or 1/2" A Type belts so be sure to double-check what you need. Z section V belts are 10 mm width and 6 mm depth.Link belts are a pain to adjust until you figure it out. Be sure to have a pair of needle nose pliers.

A vast improvement from the old, worn belt…
This belt is working perfectly, replacing the worn drive belt on my drill press. It was easily adjusted to the correct length using a pair on needle-nose pliers…using my fingers was somewhat less successful. :-)The new belt runs quietly and smoothly. It’s a major improvement from the old worn beast.Highly Recommended!
