can't beat the price and good quality

Great value! I was quoted a higher rate by my pool service. I'm not against people making a profit in their business, however I watch my spending and this is an easy replacement item to interchange with my older filter. Plus, not only is it a great value but I get longevity out of this filter as well as including being earth minded in recycling things to reuse and use for a longer time.

The last filter we used became fuzzy with age, and the surface became felt-like.As a result, the filter became nearly impervious to water flow.THIS filter is made of something else entirely. No sign of fuzziness yet, and after cleaning, the pressure gauge reading goes back down to below 5, like new.I'm curious to see how long this can go on.I see that the price has gone up though.

Although it seems a little more fragile than the Hayward filter it was half the price of the original one and half the price the local pool store wanted for the one that they recommended that looked like it would dissolve in water. It definitely filters well and the flow is as it should be. I had no trouble cleaning it and I believe it will last quite a while with the correct maintenance.

I have been using this Pleatco PA175 pool filters for 10 years for my pool. Each spring, I soak the filter in a garbage can filled halfway with water and TSP. I leave for 24 hours and rotate the filter so entire filter has been on the TSP water. After 48 hours, I use a hose to wash the filter thoroughly. Once our pool is opened for the season and cleaned, I remove the filer and hose it again. I have used the same filter for two years, but I would assume climate and chemicals would determine your filters viability. Remember when you lose suction while trying to vacuum, time to wash the filter.

It does a good job of filtering and easier to clean than the original Hayward filter.
