I have used this twice now for fossil digs. The carrying case is well made and sturdy enough to carry all the tools and withstand extra rock weight in it. I have used the tools and they do their job. The gloves may be small for men but fit my small hands. The extra pouches come in handy for finds that need tender care. I actually need more since fossils in shale seem to be a little delicate. Works as expected and I am very happy with the purchase.

Great value and good quality tools in a convenient bag. Perfect for someone just getting into rock hounding and needing the basics.

This kit has a lot to offer. The chisels and hammer the stars of the show in this bundle. The bag leaves a lot to be desired. If you are out collecting rocks, the bag already has a very uncomfortable strap when loaded with just the tools. The gloves can be immediately thrown out. The remainder of the tools work decently if you don't have a good quality version of the tool. After several uses of this kit the hammer and chisels have worked their way in to my regular rockhoudong equipment. The shovel is one that seems intended more for camping than rockhounding.

I ordered 2 of these kits. One for me and one for a friend since we go geode hunting a lot. It is a good quality bag, and the tools seem to be holding up so far. I did add a larger water bottle to mine and some cleaning rags.

This was a perfect Christmas gift for my 7 year old grandson! I am 70 and have been a rockhound since I was 5. It evolved into me becoming a lapidarist cutting and polishing gemstones. I am still a rockhound and enjoy this activity with my grandson, son, daughter-in-law and fiancé. The tools are very good quality, including a jeweler’s loupe, that is as good as the one I use to assess gemstones. My grandson was thrilled and immediately put it to good use, with his parents, on the first nice Winter’s day.

The package came and everything seems to be of reasonable quality for the price however, there is no compass or hand lenses in my kit.
