I bought an 18×18 inch flat wooden chess board and I absolutely loved it! The material quality is top-notch. The wood is well-polished and gives off a rich, grand feeling. The chess pieces are well crafted with great attention to detail, and thankfully, there were no broken or damaged pieces. The board itself has a good weight to it, making it feel sturdy and premium. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant at first, as I’m not used to making big purchases online. But I’m so glad I went ahead with it. no regrets at all!

I was looking for a wooden chess set for a long time and then came across this beautiful product from the Palm Royal Handicrafts. The board has excellent polished finishing and the pieces are beautifully crafted. The board and pieces are nice to hold and heavier than I expected which gives a premium feeling. The bag they provided is also of good quality. What feels like a bonus is that this chess set comes with an extra pair of queen, though it was not mentioned in the product description. The only reason I'm not giving it five star rating is that I found one of the pawn pieces a little damaged at the base. But as it's a minor crack, I think I can live with that. Other than that I'm very satisfied with the overall quality of the product and affordable price in which it is offered.

Great finish. The board itself is very smooth, appropriate contrast and great feel. The pieces are traditional, nothing fancy but well done.

Please do not but this product as the seller advertises the product as made of Indian Rosewood but the reality is the product is made from Indian Akashi Tree also known as Jungle wood and Pine Wood which are the cheapest wood in India.This is confirmed by an Expert Carpenter known to me.

Worth for money

Let’s start with the board handmade and smooth as glass. The contrasting wood squares and border give the board a GrandMaster look of sophistication it is impressive. The board is 1/2” thick and covered with quality green fabric underneath. Now for the pieces. Each set comes in a foam lined carton however NONE of those pieces were in those foam surrounds. They were scattered in each carton. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE and those same pieces are BEAUTIFULLY made including the two extra Queens. The packaging is strictly INDUSTRIAL intended to transport and nothing more. There is no case of any kind so you must buy your own for around $50.00. This will give protection for the set and convenience for travel. Buy this set I cannot imagine disappointment.
