Decent Boots for the Price - Would not wear these on deployment!!
Rothco makes "middle of the road" military gear for air soft fans. I have a couple of their products, including these boots. Honestly, I just wanted a pair of semi-comfy tan boots to beat up. I have custom orthotics, so I don't trust any soles / arch support that comes from the factory, regardless of the designer.Having been on a combat deployment as a rifleman, I would Absolutely not wear these on a foot patrol. I'd spend another $50 for an incredibly comfortable pair of boots that I could stand to have on for 12 - 14 hours. These are not those boots. I would not go on a combat deployment with them. With that said, if you're running around doing air soft or hiking and stuff, these boots are great. Beat them up. They can take it. The tops of the boots are pretty loose, so you might experience some debris getting in there. I recommend wrapping your laces around the top of the boot to secure it a little better.

Good enough for a cheap boot.
I'm ex military. Infantry. I walked a lot. Been through my share of boots. I wear an 11.5 XW. So I ordered a 12W in the hopes that I would get the extra width that I need. The width is spot on but they are long. Fits like a 12.5 of 13 in length.Construction overall is fair at best. The glue work is a bit sloppy. Not glaringly obvious. It's a $67 dollar set of boots. Beggars can't be choosers. They are more comfortable than issue boots. Not as comfortable as my BlackHawk. On a comfort scale of 1-10 (1 being "I am on mile 16 of a 10 mile ruck march" and 10 being I ate too much ecstasy and I'm wearing puppies for shoes") I would give them a 6. Somewhere along the lines of dockers. So with the addition of an insole with arch support and some 550 cord lacing, the boots are just fine.

Good Hiking Boot -- Not So Great As A Spider Smusher
Researched hiking boots that didn't cost me my first born & the spinning wheel that turns straw into gold.Chose the Rothco 5368 Desert Tan Forced Entry Deployment Boot.A little stiff when first worn but broke 'em in by wearing them every other day at work for 8+ hours at a stretch < no pun intended >. By day #5 they felt like "home." :-)Would definitely recommend & if lost tomorrow I'd re-purchase these boots.I took one star off because stomping a fair sized wood spider on a tile floor did NOT kill it right off the bat due to the articulated lugs on the bottom of the boot. I mean, it certainly wasn't going anywhere and it would've died on its own, but it took a couple of stomps to smush it into oblivion.Have not tested the 'Forced Entry' feature of the boot, so cannot speak to it.

Good lightweight summer boot.
It's what I was looking for, a lightweight shoe with good ventilation. This is a Desert boot, it's meant for hot, dry areas. It is waterproof, but it is not insulated and not meant for ice, so if you intend them to be an all purpose boot, you will quickly find they suck on ice and slick surfaces.

Thin Cheap Material
Wore them a week and the left boot in the rear tear at the heel. There's a plastic type of heel cup inside causing it to tear the material. Took pics to show how it ripped along with the heel cup inside

Decent upper and sole build quality for the price point. Slightly tight fit, but they did break in.
Well made for the price point. You can do some moderate hiking without them falling apart. I have somewhat of a wide foot, and these wear just a hair on the tight side. They didn't eventually break in to wear I could wear them all day without discomfort. The soles don't show excessive wear after a couple months of moderate use including Yellowstone Park trail hiking. The uppers are holding their finish pretty well too.

Great value for money
LIke everything about it, especially the steel shank which provides great support for a bad back. Shoe is comfortable and was a great relief during hot weather. Since my feet run hot i'm wearing them into the Chicago winter, but not for much longer. My only complaint is the laces are a bit below grade and I have to tighten them during the day after initially putting them on. I think it's because they're lightweight, or less than heavy duty laces. But hey, I paid $59 for boots I've been wearing most days for six months and they still look very nice and have not shown undue wear.

Not true to size
I ordered a size 9R as that is what I wear in running shoes. These boots felt too big, and I have wide feet. Maybe I should have ordered a size 8 instead. I am returning them. The construction looks "okay". I intended to use these as my hiking boots, but true to other reviews these boots would not last long. The lacing at the top of the boot will not help provide ankle support. The material looks like it will tear if you rubbed against rough or sharp edged rocks.I might as well spend the money on "real" hiking boots and stop being so cheap.
