Deserves 10 Stars!!!
This book will exceed your expectations! I bought it for my 6 year old, who was captivated at first by the inside covers, but it just kept getting better! This is one book you can accurately judge by its cover--it's sure to make everyone happy! After reading the first chapter at bedtime, my daughter was literally begging me to continue. Even *I* had a hard time putting it down, so we both eagerly agreed to read more the first thing in the morning, which we promptly did upon waking. This book is just as entertaining and valuable for parents as it is for their kids! We love reading this book as a family and my daughter loves discussing each story and the relevent lessons she can apply to her daily life. As parents, we get a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our messages to her in a positive, fun, receptive environment--which is when they stick better. I can truly say we are all benefitting from this book. This is easily our most prized book and the best investment in a "children's" book we have made. I am giving one to every child I know--it is a must for every library for anyone who wants the best for their kids in life and wants to empower their children! I highly recommend you approach this book as a family and learn the 7 habits of a happy family together! What you'll find in this book:- Captivating, energetic, fun, charming illustrations with vibrant colors.- Each story is skillfully plotted with entertaining, smart, realistic and thoughtful story lines.- Excellent discussion tips at the end of each chapter/habit to reinforce and prompt discussions.- High quality paper and binding.- Hours of quality time with your child and, if you read and APPLY the habits, too, and set the example, you will very likely receive a great return on your investment--productive, responsible, emotionally balanced kids.I can't recommend it highly enough and would give it 10 stars if I could.Obviously, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...Sean Covey has created and continued the exceptional legacy...

Great read
Maybe not the most exciting or engaging book, but it’s a great jumping off point to discuss habits and self improvement with kids. I think this is a pretty “whole brain” approach if you are into that theory.

Giving Kids a Great Start!
Having been a fan of Stephen R. Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" since the first publication of the book, I was ecstatic about the publication of this book by son Sean. He addresses the seven habits in short and linked stories. The stories teach the habits to kids at an age when they are still forming values that will become the basis of their actions long into the future. Kids who learn the principles, paradigms, and processes of the habits at a young age will have a running start on becoming happy, productive adults.Sean's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens" adds the details these young people will need to fully understand and apply the principles as they struggle with the challenges and temptations of the teen years.Several years ago I was certified by Covey Leadership (now FranklinCovey) to facilitate the 3-day intensive seminars on the Seven Habits. I conducted over 30 of the seminars at the company I was employed with over a period of two years. These have been some of the most rewarding learning experiences of my life, as each seminar provided me with deeper and deeper insights as participants experienced their own "a-ha's". I remember telling participants, "Wouldn't it be nice if young children could be taught these principles?"Wow! What you hold in your head, you draw into your world!I have purchased "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids" for my 6-year-old granddaughter for Christmas this year. Her mom (my first daughter) is a Special Education teacher (and a participant of one of my intensive seminars back in 1996) who can use the book as she influences in a positive way the lives of her disadvantaged and at-risk students. She can help them become the "transitional figures" in their families' lives, breaking the cycle of abuse, hopelessness, and despair that they have been exposed to.Thank you, Sean, for continuing your father's legacy with the publication of these books!

School Kids review the book
We will be a 7 habit school next year, so as school counselors we used this to introduce the ideas to the k-6th grades. These are their reviews in their own words: "It is good and make your life" "I like this book because it gets my attention" "I think it is to much of a little kid type of book" "I liked the book because it shows what we do everyday in life" "It is a good book because it was funny and I learned stuff about it" "This book is to teach kids to be good all the time" "I didn't think this book was very good because it is too teachy - not everyone wants to know about the 7 habits" "It helps kids understand what things mean" "Make Ernie talk - that will make it better" "I learn how to be a better friend" "I like the animals. They help you understand" "I didn't like this book. It was boring. It was a little good because it has real life situations" "It is too childish for me. It is for ages 0 - 3 months" "It teaches people how to be better in school. It also teaches people to be better outside of school" "I liked it because I could relate to the book" "It is funny. It is helpful. And I liked it so that means something" And there you have it!
