ANOTHER UPDATE AFTER A FEW YEARS OF OWNERSHIP: After 5 different filter changes and several years of ownership, we noticed that the faucet dribbles and drips for a while (30+ seconds) after you turn off the pump. Not the end of the world, and still a good product, but slightly annoying. UPDATES AFTER SIX MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP: This filter continues to be awesome, and has all signs of holding up for long term use. It is convenient to refill and to use, easy to maintain, and the quality of the filtration is amazing for an over the counter mini appliance. My one complaint is that the magnetic lid covering the filter itself can loosen up and rattle when the water is dispensing, which makes a louder sound. It isn't bad enough for me to consider it a bad product, but just something to be aware of. Otherwise, fantastic filter and strongly recommended!! I used brita filters for the longest time but they tend to get gross with still water sitting in them, take forever to filter, and also do not necessarily do a great job filtering stuff out. I originally wanted to install an under sink filter, but that wasn't allowed in my rented apartment. This seemed like a good compromise, with a heavy duty aquasana filter and an electric pump. It works great - just fill the tank and hit the button, and clean water flows out on demand at a high rate (very high if you compare it with brita / gravity filters). The water tastes great and is available immediately. So far, we've had no issues with this machine. It does exactly what you would hope it would do, is well-designed, and is effectively without being obtrusive or looking too industrial / unfinished on a countertop.

I love that it’s easy to use and provides us quick and plentiful fresh water. I do have to refill regularly, but the whole process to refill and fill my 40 oz tumbler takes a couple of minutes tops. The only thing making it not a fine star is the noise. I’ve discovered the loud noise comes from the design of the lid that cover the filter chamber/dispensing faucet. It vibrates furiously when the motor is engaged and creates a ton of noise. If I have a free hand and can hold the lid down (or just remove the lid while filling), it is MUCH quieter. This seems to be a design flaw, as I have not found any way to make it stay in place better other than manually holding it. But the noise is not enough to make me want to return it or deem it not worth the money because the water quality is excellent - and that is why I purchased it!

I have terrible water at my house. It doesn’t feel clean and tastes odd. I got this because of PFAS and NSF certification. My town supposedly has remedied PFAS, but extra filtration gives me peace of mind and no installation required. Best independent test: friend was visiting and went to get a glass of water. I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t tell him to use the machine. He poured a glass from the sink faucet and started drinking while walking across the kitchen. One sip and he raced back to the sink to spit it out and dump the glass. He’s used to Vermont water. I told him to use the Aquasana. He said the 2nd glass was fine. Crisis averted and thirst satisfied. Best test and it wasn’t even planned. It is pricey, pours fast enough and holds 64 oz. I’m putting in an RO for the kitchen with a 2nd sink faucet. This unit will go upstairs in my bathroom so I can get water easily and fill my water flosser without carrying gallons of water around. Easy to fill canister. A bit of a luxury as it’s not cheap. Got a good price on Prime Day. Peace of mind.

I was a long term customer of Aquasana. It used to be a small local company in the DFW area, recently they were bought out by a larger company. The shipping time became much longer and the customer service was not as good. I had a countertop model that used a diverter valve and connected to the faucet in my kitchen sink. The system used two filters. The water tasted great and the system was reliable and did not require electricity. It cost less than $100 I am hyper-sensitive so it allowed my to wash my food in the sink without impacts from chlorine. I needed replacement parts recently and was informed that unit is no longer made and the replacement is the Clean Water Machine. I tried it and did not like it at all. Its messy with the water and I can't wash my food in the sink, plus its noisy and requires electricity. When the pump fails it will not be covered by warranty. You have to fill the reservoir each time which is a hassle and results in spilled water from the base of the unit. You have to clean out the reservoir every week as well. The nail in the coffin for me was, in spite of the certifications, it did not remove the chlorine and possibly other chemicals. I know this because I started having allergic reactions from the treated water. My ears were ringing all the time and I had a constant and worsening shortness of breath! Amazon was great on the return.

Replacement for my prior Aquasana - does not leak through the bottom like the other one, but is still very noisy!
