I don't know if these are ex-retail and there was a sticker on it, or if something was on the leather. The top right corner where it opens has a darker square area. There' no residue, and it doesn't effect function, but its exactly where I'd imaging a price sticker would be and it's the only thing I can see when I look at it. Reaching out to see if exchange is possible.Otherwise it's quite nice. Seems well put together with good stitching. Slightly oversized, padded, and a nice 'distressed' type pattern. Perfect for an A4 notepad (vertical), couple of pens and cards, and a few misc pockets for additional papers.EDIT: After speaking with the seller and providing photos, a replacement folder was sent out, no additional costs, and matter was resolved, painlessly, within 2-3 days. CS is on top of things, upping rating from 4 to 5.

I've been looking to replace a cracking vinyl portfolio and decided to take a gamble here. I compared several options, this one came out on top because they do not brand it on the outside (a very discrete company identification stamped on the inside with leather tools) and it has business card holders plus two pockets on the left as shown in the illustrations.The portfolio is a nice brown, the stitching is good and even, no loose threads or evidence of replacement stitching. Corners and seams are even with no bunching or bulges. Nicely holds two pens plus standard (US) 8.5"x11" pad of paper via top-load slot. Nice leathery smell and feel (almost suede) with perceptible pore marks when you look closely. It does have varying appearance across parts of the grain - and mine has a few obvious spots that appear as if oil were dripped on the skin. If you are looking for absolute perfection you would need to pay more and look for a more varnished vanish - this definitely shows "character".My only concern (not yet a flaw) is that it came with a piece of cardboard inside with oil stains and a remark that it is there to absorb excess oils. Nothing feels oily, and I put my paper pad in last night and see no oil absorption overnight. I will watch this a few days and come back to update review if I decide that it is staining the business cards or writing pad and give the seller an opportunity to give me and all of us some feedback.

I’ve had a lot of portfolio’s over the years and they all seem to tear. I know it has only been a couple of weeks but, I can already tell this one is going to last a long time. It is well made. The stitching appears to be superior and the leather looks fantastic. Definitely ups my game during meeting meetings at work.

This is a beautiful, thin, extremely high quality leather portfolio. However I have fairly minimalist size PC bag I carry and this was about 1 in too big in length and width. Had to return. 9 x 12 would be the normal size I would look for, for a small laptop bag.

My second portfolio (I lost the first one after years of service) can’t ask for a better product.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Great quality, and perfectly crafted.The item has a high quality leather that is very durable. The inside pockets are well-designed to keep addition documents, business cards, etc. Also, the item comes with a pen. I expected the pen to be low-quality, but it is actually pretty nice. One last thing, it comes with a nice bag, which makes gifting easy.I had a minor issue with the item, and I reached out to customer service (the product owner, not Amazon). They were able to quickly resolve the issue. So, if you purchase this, have the confidence that the seller will stand behind their product.

the folders with tabs fit if you put edge without the tab toward the center where it folds. you may have to slightly tuck it behind your pen/mechanical pencilthis is my new "clip board" I don't get anything signed on paper anymore (I have a tablet to do that digitally now) so I don't need oversized compartments to store documents. I don't need a clip to hold down a piece of paper either. the surface is sturdy enough to write on top of without flexing too much so don't worry about that.very neat and classy look as an alternative to your standard clip board if you are looking for something to bring in for inspections and don't require a lot of extra storage space. if they made it just slightly wider like 1/4 of an inch you could fit folders with tabs without having to make sure the tab isn't where the portfolio folds over because if you do the tab will probably get crushed and damaged. no big deal for me though
