Un-freaking-believable!!!
Beyond cool and nifty, this thing ROCKS! Easy to use, set up, gather fuel for, cook on... does exactly what you want it to do. Used it at 11k feet for 3 days for 2 meals a day with no issues whatsoever. The blower really helps get things moving when at altitude, too. Size is manageable when transporting; weight isn't too bad, especially considering you don't have to lug fuel around everywhere you go. Keep in mind, it is a little top-heavy, so be sure you're on a level surface. Also, don't be in a rush to charge your device as it takes a little while to charge things up.

I would buy this again
I am happy with this. I have a Traeger grill and tend to cook for 4 or 5 days at a time. That means I was stuck heating things up in the microwave in between times or heating up the whole grill just to warm my food. It is too hot at my house this time of year to indoor cook. I also wanted to quit using my microwave so much. I also travel by car a lot and sometimes end up sleeping in my car at a rest stop or something similar and wanted a way to make coffee or heat up food on the go. Well this is easy, quick, light weight and compact. I have heated up my dinner, made coffee and even cooked a couple of eggs with it. The only problem I have had is I tend to put more wood then I need in it and then I have to wait for it to finish burning before I can put it away. I did the initial charge via the USB port as instructed and so far my meter still reads fully charged.

Great stove, but not quite ready to be your primary.
Holy crap! When this thing goes, it creates a tornado of fire! Boiled 2 cups of water in 4 minutes. However, it DOES take a few minutes to really get going. Using Biolite pellets in addition to wood made a big difference in flame output. The stove is very well designed and built. I would not use it as a primary camp-stove however, as it is useless in the rain. It would be a good stove for an additional camper to take on a group trip, particularly for the charging feature.

Works well, watch the weather!
My son purchased the BioLite Campstove 2. He loves campfires and gadgets so this stove checked two boxes right away. The stove is on the heavy side, about 2 lbs, as far as backpacking stoves are concerned. On the other hand, you don't have to carry a lot of fuel (a liter of alcohol for my stove is nearly a pound) and you can recharge devices via the USB port; therefore, you can pack a smaller powerbank or just leave it at home. He experimented with it in the backyard to make sure everything was in order. We used it on a recent backpacking trip, in the mountains. Mostly to boil water for freeze dried food, coffee, and hot coco. The stove does a great job of adjusting flame and temperature. He uses an MSR kettle to boil water. We have not checked the boil times with a stopwatch; but it was fast enough for us. One thing he learned was that when you rely on your surrounding for your stove fuel, an inch of rain over night can make cooking breakfast, the next morning, difficult. If it's been raining where you plan to hike, pack in some dry tinder. If you're on a multi night trip, plan ahead by stashing some dry sticks along the way. We pulled out the alcohol burner and carried on; but would have been in jam otherwise. If the stove weight and fuel / powerbank trade off works for you, I would recommend this stove. Just watch the weather and plan accordingly.

Great stove
I absolutely love this little stove it is so much fun to operate. With just a few twigs I was able to cook a piece of chicken like I cooked it on a stove. I was able to charge my phone a few percentages and it burned clean no smoke! The led light that came with it was clever use in the dark!

Great portable stove
This is an amazing product, the self contained recharging battery not only runs the fan but will recharge small devices. After being lit it is smokeless- dryer the fuel the better or the pellets they sell for longer burn on a single load- it is twig hungry. As a learning curve, lighting it every thing is straight forward- ashes left are powder. I would buy it again.

Very Functional, Easy to Use, But Not As Light As Expected.
Very Functional, Easy to Use, But Not As Light As Expected. When you pack it all up (battery inside stove, stove inside water heater) it becomes fairly heavy. That is fine for me as a car-camper, and short-distance hiker. I also bought it for my son - who does longer hikes where he carries everything. He uses it but has let me know that it is quite awkward to carry.

Great for camping!
I went camping in the Fort Bragg area, all the tinder was not exactly dry but once the fire got going it was awesome! I recharged the battery before leaving "just in case" which turned out to be a good idea, the charge doesn't last long charing an Iphone 6, but I was able to get2 phones completely charged. Charging the battery with the fire wasn't as fast as I expected or wanted but it did recharge the battery from almost dead to full with a few small fires on low fan speed. Overall I would recommend this product, even with it's weight for backpackers who wild camp or anyone who camps or "glamps", my next purchase my be the fire pit they make as some places in California are now not allowing open fires.

Great smoke machine I purchased this order been on a 3 months camping exhibition and all they did was give me hassle I had the first generation which was great but what the hell is going on with this thing there is No!!! perfect bits of wood to explain to get this to light perfect. it's switch off when it wants to and then decides to spark a good flame and then switch off again from a person who loves this product why oh why did I sell the old model yes I can see why they done it but charging a battery is just like having something connected to charge anyway! with the flame temperature control just is fuming in other words do not buy this model

I used this as a stove with my Jetboil 1.5L pot (which fits perfectly) and it boils water just as fast as a conventional stove. Maybe faster. The charger works well and the built in fan makes starting a fire pretty idiot proof. I'm a backpacker and I've added this to my gear list for a few reasons. 1) I can bring less fuel overall as I have another option for boiling water. I can bring a smaller batter pack as I can use some juice from this guy here and there. Finally, it's nice to have a little fire at a remote campsite when I don't feel like hauling rocks and larger logs. It's fast and easy to have a nice little fire before you go to bed without all the work.
