Of Green Acres and Munchkins - not
This cozy continuation of Cabot Cove capers is a comfortable visit with old friends. The "Murder, She Wrote" book series is "based on the Universal television series" ostensibly written in the 1st person by Jessica Fletcher, with a little help from Donald Bain.Jessica has to get out of Cabot Cove sometimes, lest the population be decimated by the need to kill off at least one of their number in every episode ;-) and so this time, she is teaching mystery writing at Schoolman College in bucolic Indiana. Or maybe this is more heavily on the Gothic side of American Gothic than bucolic - well, actually, Grant Wood's American Gothic is a dentist and his niece in Iowa - but anyway - here is our old friend Jessica amidst the cornfields of Indiana when along comes a tornado. No, Toto is not here - and there are no Munchkins to be found - just scheming academics and students trying to get an education amidst the tempests. After the tornado, (who would have guessed?) there are dead bodies, who may or may not have perished due to natural disaster. And Jessica's on the case, with a little help from her friends back in Cabot Cove - to the chagrin of some of the collegiates, who are decidedly lacking in collegiality. Along the path to "Who or What Dunnit" enlightenment, our authors gently chide the current condition of academia.Reviewed by TundraVision

Ripped off page, no attempt to fix
The book was in rough condition with a page torn off completely. No attempt to tape it back on. Shows lack of care for customers.

Majoring in Murder is another hit. Review by Jo Smith
Murder, She Wrote has been a long time favorite of mine. I love Mysteries but not the blood and gore. Jessica is a woman we would love to have the chance in our life time to be. The writers and producers are a team that give us stories we can get lost in and enjoy from first page to the last. Plots are just complicated enough to keep you interested but you still don't have to keep looking back to figure out what is going on. LOVE it. As up to date as going through a tornado as a lot of the country went through this spring. And stories of the storm chasers and the dangers they face to gather information. Death looks them in the eye and sometimes wins as they try to figure out how to tame these storms. Always remember there are a multitude of sins that can lurk in shadows in a small place in a small location.

Secrets within Scholarly Walls.....
Jessica Fletcher is off on her travels again (yup...she gets about!) - this time to a college environment - Schoolman College - to teach a creative writing course. Death is never far behind her on these trips. Out of the blue a tornado strikes ( the first for the college in over sixty years) and a college lecturer is killed. Things don't quite add up and, luckily, Jessica is on hand to solve the clues. Even though this one is set out of Cabot Cove, it's an engaging read and an enjoyable, relaxing one. Fans of the series will enjoy this as well as anyone who loves a well crafted, traditional mystery with a very likeable protagonist.
