Fantastic product for making grids on cross stitch fabric
I use this “thread” to grid my needlework fabric. Specifically, I use it for cross stitch. When I grid the fabric, it helps me keep my place on the fabric, which means less mistakes to “frog” or remove out.I had previously used thin fishing line but when I saw someone use this product, I thought I would give it a try.I'm glad I did as it is much easier to work with. I can stop and start my lines easier and it is softer when I hold it in my hand (as I stitch in hand instead of on a hoop or frame.)I also like how portable this thread is. It fits well in my project bags and I love that the “top” on each side moves up and down to release and then lock in the end of the thread. While it is called thread, it is really a continuous piece of nylon and your needle doesn't pierce through. I found that happened with regular thread and it made it very difficult to remove.I bought several colors so I can use the one that shows up best on the specific fabric I use for projects. Gold worked well on light blue/gray and blue worked well on ivory/cream coffee stained.I'll try to include pictures to show it in use. I also should mention that I use an 8 stitch up and 2 stitch down as my grid pattern.

So far, so good!
I love the purple color! I used it to lay out a grid for counted cross stitch. I am using a piece of sparkly "gold dust" fabric, and this dark purple contrasts with it beautifully. The grid was easy to stitch, and being a metallic ribbon thread, there are no fibers to get stuck in the fabric when I remove the grid after stitching my design. Sulky Sliver thread has another 5 star fan! This particular product was recommended by a stitcher at the everythingcrossstitch.com chit chat board. Thanks!

Beautiful!
This is strong, almost like lightweight fishing line. Using it to sew Swarovski crystals to a pair of shoes. It definitely adds to the sparkle. Love it

30wt not 40wt
Description is wrong, 145-8051 is 30wt not 40wt black plastic thread. Nothing metallic about this thread, but sulky is the one calling this “sliver metallic” Stretches out of shape very easily very disappointing.

Love this stuff!
It was quite challenging at first, but with the correct tension setting, a horizontal feed, and the use of a needle made specifically for metallic thread, I managed to get beautiful results on a quilt I made!

Used for crochet
I used this for a crochet project. Put this thread with pink yarn to crochet a pair of booties. It was a bit different from what I'm used to since the thread doesn't have any real give to it, whereas the yarn does, but I got the hang of it! The booties turned out great!

Vibrant colour, worked well for embroidery
Generally, I liked it. The colour is just as pictured. I knew that the size is small, but couldn't help but notice/comment on it when it arrived. Was used by a family member for embroidery. It did the job.
