The Force Oversleeps (Star Wars: Jedi Academy #5)

book review
{My thoughts} – Victor is back at Jedi Academy this year. He is participating in his first full year of school there. He has proven that he is strong in the Force and that he has a lot of potential. His sister Christina is also strong in the Force with a lot of potential. This is his sisters last year of school and there is a gossip leak about her being a Sith and joining the Dark Side going around school. This doesn’t make Victor feel very proud of his sister, but he stands beside her and tries to prove that she is good and not bad. When the book wraps up so much has happened and so much has changed, that it had a nice twist. I really enjoyed reading this book and learning more about the characters within it. I do admit that I still miss the original characters. However, I think these are starting to grow on me. This book was a nice addition to the story and gave more insight to what kind of characters they are and what to kind of expect in future books. I look forward to reading the next book in the series very soon.I think that any child that loves Star Wars will enjoy reading this book. I love the illustrations within the pages. They give you a lot to look at and explore. I enjoy reading books like this because they are fun reads. I think that any child would be lucky to have this book added to their home or school library.

The Force Oversleeps
I purchased The Force Oversleeps for the girls because they have enjoyed the previous books in this series. This is the fifth book in Jarrett J. Krosoczka’s Jedi Academy series. This book is about a boy named Victor who is starting his second year at Jedi Academy. He’s hoping to get the lead role in the school play, but it doesn’t work out. That’s not even the worst thing though- everyone thinks that Victor’s big sister is going to the dark side! Two of my girls read this book as soon as we got it, and they both thought it was very funny. The story combines diary entries, comics, social media, and even articles from the school newspaper to help tell the story. My oldest daughter, who is a fan of comic strips, enjoyed the parodies of Family Circus, Garfield, and Peanuts.I would absolutely recommend The Force Oversleeps to middle grade fans of Star Wars. My daughters say that readers should check out the previous books in this series before reading this one. At the very least, read A New Class before this one because that’s the first book in Victor’s arc.

Renewed my faith
I have devoured this series ever since book 1, which read like a str wars diary of a wimpy kid. The second and third were just as good, and i was excited to see where the author woud take the series. When book 4 came out, i was disappointed that ll my favorte characters were gone, and annoyed by how the characters were very 1-dimensional and the artwork had grown considerably worse. Part of the allure to the series was Roan's drawings, and while it made sense to give victor a different style, I thought it was poorly executed, and this series fell out of favor with me.This book renewed my faith in the series, with higher imagequality and n actual plot line. Although I loved seeing Pasha, it felt very forced nd out of place. There are no other ties to he originL series besides the name, and i wonder just how long after book 3 book 4 took place. Now, I cannot wait for book 5.

#superAwesomeMegaPageTurner
Its is very well written. I like that it is mysterious, and you always want to keep reading it. Its my definition of a page turner. I also like the fact that Victor has a sister with him, I like when siblings get along well. The story really just comes together and makes you think. When I read it, I was always thinking-wait, so what just happened-whoa! I really enjoyed this book, and since I have read all the Jedi Academy books, this was my favorite one.

Fun reads for kids
My 8 year old daughter loves these books. We usually stick to getting books from the library vs buying since she is a fast and avid reader but these books she loves so much we bought them. She has read them several times already and they are her favorites. Great stories, worth the purchase.

Graphic novels have been an amazing compromise. The moment I handed him this book ...
My son is 9 and loves these books. He's at the age where he doesn't want picture books but he's not ready for just chapter books either. Graphic novels have been an amazing compromise. The moment I handed him this book he sat down and started reading without me having to fight with him. He's laughing while reading it and has already asked for the next one which we've already preory

Really been good books for my 8 yr old
My 8 yr old son has really enjoyed this series. He gravitated toward this and diary of the wimpy kid. I'm reading him the Hobbit because its still a little too much, but these books have been great for a kid who likes reading, but perhaps doesnt love it.

Star Wars comic for kids
Given 5 stars from my 9-year-old son who has read all of the previous books in the series. He can't get enough Star Wars stuff and immediately asked when the next one would be out. There are a lot of books about side stories, but they are meant for adults. This one is appropriate for kids. It is written in comic book form, not in paragraphs.
