Q: Is the battery charger 12 or 120 volt or both? If 120 volt only, is 12 volt available for purchase?

It says you can charge 120 volt. Don't know about 12v.

Q: Can anyone share their experience on checking this in an airplane? Does the battery have to be in your carry on luggage?

Wheelchair itself has no issues on checking it as luggage. That does not count toward your weight limit on bags. But yes, you must disconnect battery and carry on plane with you. It does fit nicely in a small camera sized bag so you can sling it over your shoulder. Or you can put into your regular carry on bag. You cannot check it as they have a fear that lithium batteries could overheat and catch fire. Even though this type of battery has no such issues. Airlines are just overly cautious about batteries.

Hello!!! After a 24 hour charge, the joystick did not operate the chair.
