Updated/New Review Changed from 2 Stars to 5: Well, I've never liked the taste of crow particularly, but here we are. The seller contacted me after posting my review and asked if I would try another board if he had it sent out. Well, I said yes but held out absolutely zero hope it was going to do anything different. Well I was wrong as the new unit works as advertised. Boy was I shocked. After looking at the two units and making some comparisons, I see there are a few differences, the number printed in the silkscreen on the second board I received is 1615, wile the one that did not work was 1815. In looking closer at the logic chip that runs the whole show, I see that one side of the chip has some serious solder flaws despite the QC OK sticker place on it. The seven segment display on the first unit was red, while the second one I received is green. As you can see by the last 4 pictures I posted the display does cycle through the POST codes while booting and appears to do exactly what it was intended to do. Kudos to the seller for sticking behind his product and getting one sent to me that works even though I made no effort whatsoever to get a refund or replacement from him. I tested this adapter in 3 pcs and it didn't work in any of them, all I got was dashes in the LCD display. While the seller does everything he can to help and is very friendly, and I give him 5 stars for his effort, I am reviewing the product not what a great guy he may be. Do yourself a favor and do a search for pci post card. You will find several of them from 5 bucks on up, read the reviews and decide for yourself. The three motherboards I tested it on were an ASUS, MSI and HP. The power supply tester works great, and i didn't have a machine to test the laptop card in, so I can't speak to its performance at all. It also came in a nice zipper bag which was unexpected and very pleasant surprise. I kept the kit as I will get use out of the power supply tester and the wrist strap, and for the little coin spent it isn't worth the trip to the post office to return it.

The basic starter kit includes everything you will likely need for diagnosing issues with those older motherboards and power supplies. Also included are links to download user guides and tech tips to help with your project. Have tried 2 different computers and only get to a screen with an arrow circling. Is there any way to email for printing? Amazon probably won’t allow direct contact. I want to keep the unit so please help.

Excellent motherboard test kit, must have for older computer repair or retro PC work. It helped me work out the issues with two of my retro boards (Pentium 1 era). The seller did an excellent job communicating and providing all the necessary information to use the device. Kudos for writing the documents with all the various information so that persons with any skill level can use this tool. Kit itself literally has everything needed to troubleshoot the motherboard and power. I used it via PCI slot but also tested ISA slots on the board as well. Having a case to keep all the stuff in is a cherry on top of the cake. Overall, excellent and complete kit for old computer troubleshooting. Thank you!

I was delightfully surprised at the amount of equipment in the kit, and the case with instructions. This was such a pleasant purchasing experience that I will direct my friends to this store. The email with detailed steps was terrific, but most of all, the customer support was phenomenal. I am still sorting out my laptop issues, but every step in a wonderful learning experience, with incredible support. Here is a man who truly loves his work and helping people solve problems.

I had ordered this POST tester to help diagnose a failed vintage motherboard from the late 90's. No POST beep just fans spin up and nothing more. The tester showed no POST activity on both the ISA and PCI buss indicating further issues to look into. After purchasing the seller contacted me providing links to download the instruction and reference guides. The seller also offered help with using this tester and determining further fault causes. Very nice individual to talk to. One last important point to remember: ISA cards face upward and PCI cards face downwards. This tester has two sets of pins, one for each socket type. The PCI is keyed to only fit one way, however the ISA side of the card can be inserted upside down, potentially damaging the tester. Just be sure to pay attention which direction the ISA side is plugged into.

The -5V LED on the tester did not lit on 2 brand new PSU when testing the 24 PIN power output

I needed to test 2 motherboards who did not POST - the PSU tester was easy to use and also included a PCIe card and SATA drive PSU cable testers.. Nice added bonus. The static electricity wrist band also worked. Once i figured out that the PSU AWA’s bad I did not have a chance to use the PCI diagnostic card however be aware that there are 2 kits - one with a PCIe card and one with a PCI card tester.. obviously the PCI card is no longer supported on modern motherboards so ensure you order the correct set. Otherwise great communication from the seller!
