Exact OEM Replacement, Everything is there
So I have a 2004 Ford Expedition XLT with 160,000+ Miles and felt it a good time to do a Transmission Filter change before I go on a roadtrip and seeing as it had never been done on my vehicle. I just have to say the new one shipped fast, and came exactly the same as the old filter and fit just as perfect. The gasket seal that pushes into the transmission comes attached and ready to install. On these Ford Transmissions the Transmission Pan gasket is a reusable one and therefore you just needed the filter (Check with your specific vehicle on this though first!). I’ve never dropped the pan but it was fairly easy and then getting the Ford OEM Mercon V off Amazon made refilling to factory spec easy on me and my piece of mind. Transmission shifts way smoother and rides smoother than it did before, can’t wait to put some miles on before the trip and check for leaks, although as of now I have seen none at all! Did it all myself👌🏼Update: Vehicle ran flawlessly, we had it until about 198000 miles when my parents decided to trade it in for a new vehicle for them. (Sad for me haha). But vehicle was always reliable after changing that transmission filter, never any hesitation or slippage, always made sure to use Ford Mercon V Automatic Transmission Fluid to stay true to factory spec.

Stick with OEM
The OEM filter is half the price on Amazon. This fit perfectly on my 2004 F150 Lariat. Easy project that should be done every 50,000 miles or less. After the filter change my transmission took 4½ quarts of Mercon V.

1999 Ford F150 4.6 Romeo engine
This is a perfect fit replacement for the original. Original engine and transmission with no significant maintenance or replacement in 290000 plus miles. The transmission had never been serviced. The transmission fluid was nearly black and there was three quarters of an inch of sludge in the bottom of the transmission pan. With the pan cleaned out including the magnet, which by the way looked like a large furry donut when the pan was opened and the original plastic plug removed, this filter stopped all the noise coming from my transmission. Including a loud screaming sound every time I accelerated. I also have 2 more gears now that I never knew were there. Shifting is almost as smooth and quiet as new. You can't expect Perfection from a 300,000 mile transmission, but this definitely extended the life of my truck. Highly recommended and not nearly as difficult as everyone makes it sound.
