The Fairy-Tale Detectives (The Sisters Grimm #1) (Volume 1) Review: Laugh out loud moments for my kid - I'm reading this with my advanced 2nd grade daughter and she thinks it's so hilarious and also scary in a good way. I usually don't like kids books but I'm enjoying it too and love to see my daughter laughing out loud from a book. She even read it independently for about 30 pages and tried to read it at dinner sneaking it under the table. She loves reading but this book has so many characters and layers to the plot that it's unlike anything else she has read. I think kids 7-11 would love it, boys included. Puck and Jack are both great characters in addition to the sisters. Review: The Fairy Tale Creatures! - This is a fun young adult novel about two orphans who go to live with their grandmother. They discover that they are part of a legacy that helps to police Fairy Tale creatures. The girls are barely reunited with their grandmother when she is kidnapped and they are forced to help rescue her! A very charming and fun read. As an adult reader I enjoyed this fun romp through the fairy tale creatures as they are now. I would recommend it to people of all ages who love fairy tales. Definitely going to need to read more in the series!

4 Stars For Sure
I love this book! While it is definitely written for younger audiences than I am (24 year old woman), I enjoyed reading it. The prose is simplistic enough that children can understand and the characters are complex enough for any adult reading it to sympathize with them. This is the perfect book to read together! Though I gave it only four stars because I enjoyed it, but wasn't completely blown away. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely! In fact, I'll do it right now! If you are on the fence about getting it, then do it right now 😄. You will not regret it.

Worth Reading
I have several grand-daughters close to the Grimm Sister’s ages. I encourage them to read and buy several different types of young adult books to keep them interested. I always read those books first. I liked it enough to start and finish it over the course of two evenings. I started with the Kindle version, but I’ll get the paperback for this one and the next in the series. What I probably liked best was the author’s section at the end of the book explaining that this is a detective story, to enjoy it as such and how to read the stories. Nice touch.

Great series
I read these back when they first came out years ago but lost my copies over the years and hadn’t even finished the series. I’ve now started reading them to my own kids and they love them as much as I did. Great children’s series.

Wonderful!
This book is the first in the Sisters Grimm series, and what a wonderful first book it is!! Full of amazing characters, an interesting plot, and hilarious moments, this book is sure to be a favorite for... Well, forever! I absolutely loved this first story of Sabrina and Daphne Grimm. It tells the story of these two girls who, after their parents abandoned them, move in with their supposedly dead Granny Relda who lives in Ferryport Landing. There, Relda reaches the two about the family business: investigating mysteries for the Everafters a.k.a. fairy tale creatures who live in the town. Sabrina thinks that Granny Relda is tricking them, but when she gets kidnapped by a giant, Sabrina begins to believe the woman. A wonderful story perseverance and trust. First in the series, and I ate it up! I simply cannot wait to read the rest!!

The Sisters Grimm, Book 1
The Sisters Grimm is a delightful book about 2 young girls, Sabrina & Daphne, who are orphaned & are brought to their grandmother's house in the town of Everafter. Living at Granny Relda's (Grimm) house with them are Elvis, a very large & loving dog, Mr. Canis, Granny Relda's friend, and Puck, the mischievous boy who Granny has taken in. The sisters are almost immediately drawn in to a mystery, finding out that detective-ing is the family business. In solving this crime, they meet many familiar fairy-tale creatures, both pleasant & not. It is funny and at times creepy, but great fun for kids and adults. I read this book about 18 months ago & am buying it for my niece, who loves to read. With all of the references to fairy tale creatures (and surprisingly Shakespeare) and those characters not assuming their traditional roles, it's an entertaining read.

A fun read!
I bought this book for my 8-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. I decided to read it first to make sure it was appropriate to give her. I'm happy to say that I think it's wonderful. It is full of action, adventure, humor, and love. My older sister took care of me just like the older sister in this book, so I can relate well to their relationship. Thanks to the author's written descriptions, it was easy to use my imagination to picture the scenes. I have to say, it was a lot of fun to read!

Not as per description and kids may not be able to appreciate. Average read for adults.
