Sealed my ceiling vent
This worked great to block off a vent in my ceiling. I had read some reviews stating it did not work for this purpose, so I was a little worried but decided to order and try it anyway. I measured the opening in my vent and cut a sheet the appropriate size. It was a little difficult sliding it in place, since it wants to stick to the metal. It works great! Even though there was a lot of air pressure coming out, it stays put. There are some types of ceiling vents that are not steel, perhaps that is the problem the other reviews had. I have both types in my office, I've included photos of each.

Disappointed
Did not work at all on vertical wall metal air intake 27" x 18". I detected zero magnetic attraction. Another thicker magnetic sheet I was using had been working fine in that same location but it developed a crease during storage and split open a bit. I'm not sure how or where this could be used except possibly for floor vents to prevent it from sliding.

Great for DIY projects
Used this to place on the back of my make-up and stick to a steel board. I had to use superglue to adhere it to the products and there is no adhesive surface. It handles a lot of weight as long as you use a larger piece. I had to fill the entire back of the product to have it hold, but it holds so well that they don't slip down or move even if you shake it or hit.

Weak magnet and won't flatten out
I bought this to cover the air vents on my fireplace in winter when the cold air around the outside of the firebox creates a cold draft by pulling warm air into the top vents and pushing cold air out the bottom vents. Anyway, after cutting the pieces to size, about 4 x 12 inches to cover each of the 4 vents, I cannot get the material to flatten out. I left it under heavy boxes overnight and still the edges curl. I reverse rolled it, which helped temporarily, but after putting it on the fireplace the edges still curl after a few hours, uncovering part of the vents. The magnet is very weak; if it was stronger maybe it would hold itself down better. Not recommended for this use. Maybe good for other purposes.

Backer does not peal off easy enough -- size and cut is rough, not precise
Not a precise cut or size. More like a rough estimate and cut to be at least the 24x36 I ordered. I am using it in a poster frame for spices and needed to cut sheet to get clean (enough) edges and an exact 24x36 size. Backing was a BIG problem for me. It is stuck so hard to the magnet that it does not peal off easily. I gave up pleading all but a bit of the corners after ripping the magnet trying to peal off the back. The sheet is very flexible and therefore would be better if it could be stuck everywhere on a backer. But, using much care, I still ripped on conner off so I elected to adhere it to just small corners instead of the entire back. For my use, the ripped corner does not show. Your use may be different. Just beware that you can not simply peal and stick since pealing if very difficult and I don't know how you'd peal the entire 24x36 backer. The magnet is strong enough to hold spice tins but is not strong. If I were to do it again, I'd get the stronger one.

Durable
Very fast shipping. I bought this for a intake vent that I wanted to block off and make the AC draw from a hotter area more. The grate is metal however this does not like to stick to it. The material is very durable, I would just need a little more magnetic strength to make it perfect.

worked for fireplace
I have a fireplace with a glass door in a metal frame. The frame has a row of air vents along the top and bottom, which were letting cold air in the room when the fireplace wasn't in use. I ordered this magnet sheet to block it off since I figured it would be easily removable when we wanted to build a fire and just as easy to put back on. Reading the other reviews, I was worried that it might not work because of the weight of the sheet, but the outer frame of the door (approx. 2" wide around) seems to be adequate to hold it in place. I'm very satisfied with this solution. Very good price for this size of magnet material. It was shipped rolled up. To remove the curl-tendency after I unrolled it, I stuck it to the refrigerator for a few minutes.

A simple and inexpensive fix for windy fireplace vents
I was surprised to enter my new condo on the first real bitterly cold day this winter to find the place as frigid as if I had left a door open. I bought this sheet magnet, as others have, to cover my windy fireplace vents. It came in a tightly wrapped roll, covered in thick protective plastic. I unrolled it and let it rest near my baseboard radiator, held down at the four corners by the 4 legs of a table. It flattened nicely. I used a box cutter and sheetrock T-square to measure and cut 2 straight 7" x 36" sheets. This sheet was more than adequately sized for my purpose, and I have a large piece remaining. I left the white paper covering on. I had also purchased rare-earth magnets to support this sheet magnet, as many reviewers indicated that the magnet may not be strong enough to hold on a larger vertical surface. When I placed them on my fireplace vents, however, I found that the magnetism was more than strong enough to support the magnets vertically. I will retain the rare-earth magnets, however, as I plan to purchase and hem pieces of brocaded cloth to cover the sheet magnets so that they look attractive in my great room. I am very pleased to find such a simple and inexpensive fix.

The page says 24 x 3 feet, with a picture of a large roll and a hefty 64$ price tag, so I assumed it was 24 feet long. What I recieved is 2 x 3 feet, the size of a small poster ...

Absolute junk. Put them on my car and they flew off once I got on the highway. Definitely not strong enough for vehicles what a waste of money
