I did so much research before my new kitten came home - I wanted to feed him the best that I could find to keep him happy and healthy and that extensive googling lead to Wellness CORE. I have fed my kitten this, nearly exclusively, since he came home and he’s now approx 7 months old - it was on back order at one point and couldn’t find it anywhere so had to make a temporary switch. During the switch his skin was drier, his urine had a stronger smell, and his poo was soft resulting in a couple baths since he’s fluffy. As soon as he started eating this again, all was right as rain! Highly recommend for the high quality ingredients. Spend it now on the food, or later at the vet.

My cat LOVES this food. Before I got him onto this food, he was eating the other grain free Wellness kitten food, but I found that the 3 ounce cans were too small and ran out quickly compared to these 5.5 oz ones. Plus the CORE line has added nutritional benefits that the other wellness food does not. I have noticed quite a big difference in my cat's silky and soft coat compared to other cats who eat "super market" brands of cat food. Wellness Core is a brand of food any cat owner would feel good about feeding to their fur babies :)

My kitten absolutely loves this stuff! I think this is a lot easier for him to eat than some other foods I've tried (like Science Diet canned kitten food) because he still has his baby teeth, and the smooth pate texture gives him less trouble. I feel very good giving him something that I know is made with high quality ingredients (no artificial flavoring or by-products here, unlike Science Diet) and he looks so much healthier and happier than when we first rescued him. His coat is shiny and super soft, his eyes are bright and clear, and he has endless amounts of kitten energy. He gets 1/3can each night to supplement his Wellness Kitten Health dry food, which we free-feed him. His favorite part is when we get to the end of the can and I swirl a little water in it to get the gravy! My only complaint is that when Amazon shipped this to me (I didn't buy from a third-party seller), many of the cans were dented and one was damaged to the point where it had popped open, so I didn't think it was safe to feed him. That was quite upsetting. It works out to $1.45/can at their incredible price, though, and I didn't want to deal with exchanging the product just because one can was ruined.

Please note: this review is for the Wellness Core Kitten food purchased from Amazon. The product itself is stellar and my kitten is doing very well on this food. Beautiful kitten coat, growing like a weed, high energy and perfect poops. She thinks it's tasty, the vet thinks it's great, so Wellness Core kitten is a no brainer for me. And for a low, low price on Amazon? What could go wrong? I had previously been buying this food at my local Petco, but was lured in by the low price on Amazon. I purchased two cases which arrived 2 weeks later. Each case of 24 cans had exactly 15 dented cans. The label on all of the cans was of a much lighter color than the Petco cans, and many of the labels were loose and scraped. The cardboard case itself was completely unharmed and many of the dented cans came from the center row. This was not a poorly packaged shipping issue. I called Wellness. We verified that the lot numbers and time stamps were legit. They assured me that the product was authentic despite the color difference, but were dismayed by the dented cans. Wellness strongly recommended discarding all dented cans as the food may be compromised due to damage, and no longer safe to consume. Wellness customer service was terrific and they said they would send me a coupon covering the cost of the food. They suggested online retailers wag or chewy for future purchases. I'll continue to buy Wellness Core for my kitten, but I will not be buying it from Amazon. Disappointing, as I am a proud Prime member, but I do feel that Amazon failed me here. Amazon, if you're going to sell seconds, especially in food, you should say so. Buyer beware.

Trying to get more protein into my senior cats diet and some kitten food seems to have more protein than regular cat food. And since my two do not need calorie reduction, I am not keen on most of the senior foods which seem to do that. I have two 17 year olds who are quite thin despite a seemingly healthy appetite. They typically enjoy the taste of chicken, turkey or fish (not salmon), so I decided on this Turkey and Chicken liver pate hoping they would like it. They gobbled it up the first few times I offered it to them, and in typical cat fashion, they then turned their nose up to it several times. They just do that, and despite their doing so would absolutely buy it again knowing that they would likely eat it (and then not eat it, lol). I like that I can buy 5.5 oz cans of this kitten food, as many are just 3oz. It is a smooth pate, but not sticky. I can dump it out of the can, and the moisture is appealing to them. Some pates are very dry, which they don't care for as mush. As I said, sometimes my two like this, sometimes they turn their nose up to it. I give them what they want, when they want it, and when they want it it is easier to give them a whole can at 5.5 oz rather than 2 at 3 oz. It would be easier if they could just get online and order what they want. Since they can't, I order different foods trying to figure it out. This is a good brand, with quality ingredients, and will likely buy again.
