This is my first ESSE knife, but won't be my last. Feels great, looks great and it's bigger and heavier than I expected. The sheath is decent, but I'd likely upgrade to Kydex if I was using this outdoors often or if I was going to 'The Sandbox.' It's shaving sharp right out of the box and seems very capable of taking (and dishing-out) a lot of abuse. I'm very pleased with this knife and I haven't even cut anything with it. Lifetime warranty, too. Buy one.

Let me start by describing the knife to you. The fit and finish is excellent. The powder coating on the blade is second to none. The 1095 steel is quenched at minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit which takes it to another level. The blade is laser etched with the Esee logo and the Rowen and made in the USA banners. The grip is all black on mine with the 3d and grip enhancing grooves. The color of the blade is desert tan. The sheath is excellent and need not be replaced. Retention is a solid click in place and it has a spring clip for your belt. All in all an impressive knife. Normally when I buy a knife I have to replace the scales and go on the search for a new sheath that I can live with. Not so here. This is a package that you don’t have to shell out $ to replace anything. 1095 is the perfect steel for a survival knife since it can be sharpened in the field and is a tough steel that can handle shock and abuse (don’t abuse your knives). So if you take an $80-$100 we’ll built 1095 survival knife, add $50 for scales and another $50 for a decent sheath and you are $180-$200 into a lesser knife which actually makes this one at $150 a solid value! And if all that is not enough, if you DO manage to break this, Esee has a lifetime “no questions asked” replacement policy. Randall Adventure Training are survival experts and they designed and built this knife. What more could you want?

This is a great knife. Of course there are always more expensive options that “might” be better but for the money this knife is really hard to beat. I have knives the cost several hundred dollars and even on that cost $1,500. I gotta say it’s a better buy to get the ESEE 6. The lifetime warranty is awesome! I highly recommend this blade for survival or camping use.

I love all my Esee knives. This one is a great size if your looking for a larger knife without going too large. Esees are always durable and fit my hand well. The lifetime warranty gives me no hesitation when using it on tougher chopping jobs. I've never had to use it because I've never had an Esee fail, but I have no doubt they will honor it.
